Troye doesn't remember much after his fight with Tyler and his own family, so to say he was confused when he woke up was an understatement.

Reluctantly, He sat up on his bed and noticed he was still dressed in my clothes from yesterday. He sighed and pulled off his shirt, but kept on the same pair of ripped blue jeans. Despite it being the middle of summer, Troye threw on a sweater from the thrift shop, one that Connor had always complimented.

Deciding that today was going to be the day Troye wanted go to the Frantas, He grabbed the notebook, laced up his shoes, and made his way downstairs.

"Troye, sweetie, where are you going?" His mom had asked, sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee. The steam was visibly rising up from the mug. Troye wanted to ignore Laurelle, but that probably wouldn't be the best thing.

"I'm going to Connor's to see if i can find anything" Troye announced, making his way to the door.

Laurelles eyes widened, then her features on her face softened as she looked at the taller boy. "You haven't heard, have you?"

"Heard what?" Troye asked, taking a step away from the door and towards his mother. The face Laurelle was making showed Troye that she was being serious. Troye's heart started to race as she spoke up again.

"It's been all over the news, Tro" She explained, setting her coffee down and looking Troye in the eyes.

"They found Conn-" She started, only to be stopped by Troye's face filling with happiness.

"They found Connor? Where was he? See i told you he was alive! Mum I'm so happy!" Troye cheered, but Laurelle only shook her head.

"-ors body" she finished. "They found his body, Troye, he's dead." Troye was certain that his entire world just crumbled up in front of him. Connor was dead. Maybe he should've listened to Tyler and his family.

Maybe he should wake up.

Troye sat up, his face covered in sweat as he was breathing heavy.

A dream he told himself They haven;t found connor yet, he's still alive. Troye reassured himself.

Having dreams about Connor wasn't a rare thing with Troye. Ever since his disappearance, Troye has had many dreams of Connor coming home or Troye finding Connor. But never any dreams resulting in death. That was new.

__

Troye got a late start on searching the Franta's household. Cheryl and Peter we skeptical at first, so was Brandon and Dustin, but somehow Nicola persuaded them to allow Troye to check his best friends room.

Once they had granted him access, Troye immediately walked up the familiar stairs leading to the hallway in which Connor's room was located.

At first, Troye just stood in the doorway, looking into Connor's room and remembering all the memories.

Troye looked over to the window

That's where we would draw silly faces on the fog to cheer each other up.

Then the bean bag chairs in the corner

That's where we would study all the time, usually ending in fits of laughter.

Then the bed, which to Troye, held a very precious memory

That's where i first came out to Connor - at 3 in the morning.

Troye smiled at the fond memories, wishing he could go back to those days.

As he sat down on the bed, he began scanning the room for anything and everything that would be considered a decent clue for Troye. Troye couldn't focus with all the constant memories flooding his brain,, he hated it, he wanted some way to remember them more vividly.

Then, an idea struck him. Connor would take pictures everytime they hung out. He'd claim it was for him memory box, in which he kept under his bed for safety reasons. (Troye never understood Connor's fascination with keeping things in a memory box, but whatever floats his boat.)

Troye got up and knelt next to the twin sized bed. He placed one hand on the top of it as he bent over and looked through the bottom of the bed. To his surprise, all he could clearly see was a sock and an old football that Connor received for his ninth birthday.

Confused, Troye lied down on his stomach and dragged himself under the bed. It has to be here. It just has to, where else would it be? In a state of panic, Troye pulled himself out from under the bed and made his way to Connor's closet. Maybe he moved it? Maybe he didn't want anybody to find it so he moved it? Of course, that's the only logical explanation for the missing memory box, right?

Troye quickly ran over to his notebook and recorded the date and what he found on the same page;

june 6th:

-Memory Box isn't in usual spot.

surely this has to be something, right?

As troye continued looking, he couldn't find anything of interest that could remotely lead to the disappearance of Connor.

exhausted, Troye flopped onto Connors bed, letting out a heavy sigh. As soon as he did, Troye noticed how something, a feather most likely, shot up from Troyes impact.

As he studied the thing slowly fall after its 'jump', Troye noticed that it wasn't in fact a feather, rather a torn up piece of paper.

Widening his eyes, Troye shot up and grabbed the paper as soon as it hit the bed. Sure enough, the sentence was written in Connor's handwriting, however, it was cut off after the first letter of the second word.

"i'm o-"

I'm O?

I'm only?

I'm on?

I'm what?"

Although it was truly a shitty piece of evidence, it must have been something, right? So, of course, Troye recorded it in his notebook, in hopes that it would somehow come in handy.

Troye left after that, coming to the conclusion that he would make a terrible detective and he should really evaluate his life plans because shit he spent 3 hours at Connor's and only found 2 things that probably weren't even related to the case at all.

He was never going to find Connor, was he?
