"Oh! My! Goodness!" My shaky voice said as I gripped the closest tree I found near the car park practically hugging it. With my senses on high alert after that terrifying car trip; I hear the vibrations of River next to me.
I look up at him, his chest is heaving as he tries to catch his breath. "Who the heck taught you how to drive?!"
"I'm not that bad." River said defensively.
"Um yes you are!" I say.
"No I'm not."
"How did you get your license? I must admit though your cars alright." I knew it was better than 'alright' it had a sleek black exterior with leather seats and a booming sound system, but I wasn't going to add to his forever thriving ego.
"Alright?! Alright?! Savannah is way better than Alright!"
At this point I burst out laughing. Never have I ever seen him care so much and get so defensive, let alone the whole 'Savannah' thing.
I mean seriously who names their car?
After 10 seconds of silence, we both burst out laughing at the conversation we just had.
After he and I both composed ourselves, I suddenly felt eyes boring into me. I clambered up from the tree and realised I had summoned quite a crowd.
Uneasily I stepped away from the crowd and started to make my way to class. I kept walking; I couldn't help myself but look back at River.
He didn't seem to mind the spotlight as he and the other two 'bad boys' just stood there having a chat as people slowly started to disperse. 'Typical River.'
Even as I said that a sinking feeling started in my stomach; I must be hungry I can't wait for lunch; the thought of a chicken salad wrap was still in my thoughts when Emily crushes me in a hug.
"Hey!" She says in a cheery voice.
"Hey! How are you?" I said matching her cheery voice.
"I'm fantastic, what'd bout' you? Seen any hot guys?"
For some unknown reason my eyes lingered back at River, I thought I was subtle but obviously not. Before I could say 'nah no one really', she'd already shrieked in my ear and tackled me to the ground. 'What is up with me and the ground today?'
"Who is it? Who is it? Is it Jason? Is it Mike? I bet you it's Paul, tell me!" She demanded, I couldn't help but laugh.
Once I started laughing I couldn't stop, soon my stomach was aching and my breathing was uncontrollable; during my laughing fit Em had walked off sulking that I wouldn't tell her; I knew she was kidding though.
As I was about to get, clutching the sides of the wall as the laughing fit had made my muscles weaken; I saw this grey thing coming towards me.
Soon enough I was back on the ground, "Uh maybe I should just stay on the ground, less distance to fall." I mumbled.
I heard a light and deep chuckle, however once I gave him my meanest glare the laughter stopped.
"Can you please help me up?" I asked as polite as I could manage.
"Yeah sure, "he replied as he hauled me up surprisingly gently. "You know, I've been at this school my whole life and I definitely don't recognise..." He paused as he looked me up and down. "You."
"Yeah well I just moved here and..." Woa I feel dizzy and how come my head hurts so much? Everything started to fade out, "hey new girl are you alright there? New girl?......" With that darkness masked my eyes.
