"Wake up Abbey! It's time for you to make your way to Sir Nicholas' house!" Julie yelled, drawing back the curtains to open the windows, allowing the heat from the morning sun to radiate throughout the room.

It was all thanks to that jerk that I didn't even have a good night's rest.

-Flashback-

"She will have to reside in my mansion for 3 months."

What? No way!

"That's not a bad idea. I have no complains on Abbey staying in your humble abode for three months. In fact, like you said, I too believe that it will surely speed up her learning process. I support your decision to the fullest!" Agnes winked at him.

What did I just hear? I must stop this before it gets way out of hand!

"Whoa whoa whoa, wait a minute. Have you guys forgotten about MY DECISION? I have no intention to be tutored or worse, stay in his house for the next three months!" I shouted.

"So, when can she start?" Agnes gleemed cheerfully, totally ignoring what I just said.

"Tomorrow."

-End of flashback-

Well that's pretty much what happened last night. I sat up on the bed and gobbled down the scrambled eggs and bacon that Julie brought for me.

"Slow down Abbey! You look like you have not eaten in a hundred years!"

"I don't care. All I know is that the food in front of me is so damn delicious!"

"Language Abbey!" Julie sighed. "I'm so glad that you will finally behave like a lady after three months. I am sure that Sir Nicholas will do a good job." All appetite was lost as soon as I heard that bloke's name.

"I'm confused. What's so good about him that he has everyone wrapped around his fingers?"

"Well, apart from his appearance which you should know by now that attract ladies by the flock, he is an extremely talented and astute gentleman that Queen Victoria occasionally confides with despite his age of twenty-three."

"So what if he's an intellect, that isn't going to change the fact that his manners are atrocious. Whatever. I'm not going and that's final."

"You can't make me leave! You have no right to do that!" Agnes dragged me out of the house while Julie and a butler, carried the suitcases to the carriage.

"Let me out of this carriage! Right now!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, at the same time, banging my hands against the door which Agnes had just locked.

"Abbey, listen to me. I am only doing what is best for you. I hope that you will understand." Agnes said, with her head bowed down.

"No, I don't understand! You're not doing what's best for me, you're ruining me!" I started thrashing around within the carriage.

"Abbey, stop!" She took my hand in hers before taking a deep breath. "Ever since our parents died, it has become my responsibility to ensure that you are prepped and ready, so that one day, you could be married into an esteemed household." She sighed as she furrowed her brows.

"What about you?" I scoffed. "Aren't you supposed be married off to someone by now?"

Agnes' face turned slightly sour at my reply but said nothing more. "That will be a story for another time. Take her to Sir Nicholas."
