Casper's POV

Usually I'm very happy to be home, away from school. But today, it's different, for two reasons.

My mum is home.

I have ask Aubrey about Luke.

Great.

I sigh as I walk to the front door. I unlock it, and walk inside. I didn't yell "I'm home." like usual.

I scanned the room to see if my mum was anywhere to be seen. I didn't see her, nor did I hear her. I knew she was home. Her car was in the driveway.

I dropped my book bag on the couch and walked in the kitchen, where I met the cold brown eyes of my mom.

"Hello Casper."

"Hi mother, have you seen Aubrey?" I ask, avoiding her gaze.

"She went out an hour or two ago. I let her leave school."

"Oh. Who'd she go with?"

"A boy named Evan. She should be home soon. Anyways, how have you been?"

"I've been...okay. Where's Charlie? I have no homework so I thought I could take her to the park or som-" I said, but was cut off by my mum. She had now stood up and was very close to me.

"Listen here, Casper LeeAnn Hall, don't try to avoid me. It will just come back to bite you in the ass. I also expect you to have your natural hair color back by tomorrow." She sneers.

"My hair, my life, my choice." I snap.

Why did I say that?

The woman grabbed my wrist and held it tight, surely leaving marks.

"My daughter, my choice." She replies. She tightens her grip even more, making me wince. She finally let go of my wrist.

"Charlie is taking a nap, go buy some blonde hair dye." And then, my mum waves me off. I sigh and walk out the house.

-------

"So your mom is making you dye your hair back?" Charlotte asks. She was an expert at dying hair. She was the one who convinced me to dye my hair.

"Um, yeah. She's never really approved of all the hair dye, tattoos and piercing things."

"Oh god, sounds boring."

"You have no idea, my friend."

---

"Aubrey, let me in!" I yell. I was so done with everything. It was 12 am, and Aubrey just came home. She was wasted.

"No, leave me alone." She groaned.

"Let me in, this is important!" I whined. She was more stubborn than me, and that says a lot. Well, I take that back. I'm still more stubborn.

I heard rustling and foot steps before the door opened.

"What the hell do you want?" She sneered.

"What do you think about Luke, Luke hemmings?" I asked, my eyebrows raised. I just wanted to get this over with. I hated this. But it's for Luke.

"I'd bang him any day." She replied.

I almost choked on my own spit when those words left her mouth.

"That's-um- anything else?"

"He's hot." She said. "And he's taking advantage of you." She continued.

"Yeah, no shit." I rolled my eyes. It's that obvious? "Goodnight, Aubrey." I sighed before walking down the hall to my room.

I then heard a door creak open. I frantically turned around to see who, or what opened the door. I walked back down the hall, terrified.

"Cassie!!!" I knew who it was. There's only one person who calls me Cassie.

"Hi, Charlie. Why are you up so late?" I asked, looking down at the small kid.

"I-I had a n-nightmare." She stuttered, tears pouring from her eyes. I kneeled down and gave her a big hug.

"Would you like to stay with me tonight?" I asked.

"P-please." She whispered. I stood up and grabbed her hand, leading her towards my room.

At school

"So she just said she'd bang him?" Harper asked, clearly shocked.

"Yeah" I let out a loud sigh. "He deserves some one better." I muttered under my breath.

"Do you, um, do you like him?" She suddenly asked.

That was it, the question I've been dreading to answer. I'm not fully sure if I actually have an answer.

"Yes." I finally said.

"Woah, good luck. Anyways, I've got to go. I promised Mrs.Chester I'd help her out with her computer. See ya."

I opened my locker door, grabbed my things, then closed it, revealing the one and only, Luke Hemmings.

"Hi love" he said, causing a small blush to appear.

"Hello." I say, smiling.

"You're hair is blonde" he says, giggling.

"Yeah, sucks right?" He shrugged.

"Soo..talk to Aubrey yet?" He asked. Can't he just see she's the most vile, rude, arrogant person at this whole school?!

"She said you're hot." I said, avoiding looking at Luke. I didn't want to see his reaction, to be honest.

He didn't say anything for a while, which scared me. We started to silently walk to class.

"Of course, all I am is hot, right? You all just like me because I'm hot?" He finally said, almost yelled, and stormed off.

"Luke, wait!" I called, but it was to late. The bell had rang and I was already late. Amazing.
