Michael's POV
"Morning" Luke greeted me cheerfully as I walked towards him, my smile growing when he whispered a sweet "You look beautiful" as he hugged me. "Thank you" I blushed, giggly slightly and quickly grabbing my books out of my locker. I didn't necessarily hate school, I wanted to learn and have the opportunity to develop as a person however I didn't think it was at all necessary for me to suffer through what seemed like endless hours of monotonous, pointless lessons while also dealing with rude teens. It wasn't my cup of tea you could say. Not at all. I tolerated it though, I ignored any of the judgemental looks I got on certain days and simply kept my head high, with Luke by my side always, of course. I listened to my teachers drone on about subjects I thought of as irrelevant and I even made an effort to study for exams. I just didn't enjoy any of it. What I did enjoy, however, was lunch. Every single day, Luke and I would sit out the back of the school under an oak tree, listening to some music and talking. It was the only part of the day I ever really looked forward to. I always found it quite hard to fit in and not everybody accepted me but from an extremely young age, Luke and I got on incredibly well. He understands me and I understand him. We don't have any secrets really, I mean, I kinda like him and I've not exactly mentioned that but it's not a vital piece of information and aside from that, he knows everything.
I realised I had zoned out when I finally noticed Luke tugging at the sleeve of my jumper, pouting and mumbling about how I'm not paying attention to him. "Sorry Lukey, what did you say?"
"I asked if you wanted to come over after school?"
"Well I was going to anyway but now that you've invited me, I accept your invitation and will meet you at the school gates at the end of last class"
"So formal. See you later, babe" He shouted as he walked towards his next class at the opposite end of the corridor. Hopefully he didn't see the blush that rose on my cheeks as he used that pet name on me. Pet names are my weakness and I'm convinced he purposely uses them against me.After way too many boring classes, it was finally the end of the day and I was on my way to meet Luke out front, desperately trying to hold my skirt down as the wind made it it's mission to expose me to the entire school population. Noticing my struggle, Luke ran over, wrapping his jacked around my waist to help keep me covered and placed his arm around me, ushering me towards the car. I muttered a quiet thank you as he held the door open for me and soon we were on the road. The car ride to Luke's house consisted of rather awful Britney Spears karaoke but it was enjoyable none the less. As we arrived at the house, Luke yet again opened my door for me and led me to his room, sitting me on his bed and making himself comfortable beside me. "How was your day?" He asked, smiling at me as he subconsciously twirled the end of my skirt around his pointer finger. "Alright, yours?" I hummed, not having much to say considering nothing new had really happened. "Same old same old" He chuckled. "You feeling okay?" He asked, more concerned now and my heart melted at just how caring he is. He always looks after me and does everything he can to ensure I'm coping with everything. If I'm having a particularly bad day mentally he'll skip school and take me to his house so we can cuddle and just be ourselves, no need for labels or anything that can cause confusion or stress. "I'm fine Lukey, I feel pretty good today." I giggled as I spoke, seeing his smile brighten upon realising I felt quite comfortable in my body at that present moment. "Good because you look beautiful" He stated simply, making heat rise to my cheeks as I uttered a quiet "Shut up"
