Two weeks have flown by like nobody’s business. No one at school knows that we are leaving for up to a couple of months, but hey. All the more surprise when we come back. Today was our last day at school before the weekend, and most importantly, our flight to LA at nine in the morning, so we’ll get to LA at around one in the afternoon.
“So, ready for tomorrow?” Vinny asks as we walk over to P.E.
“Yeah, I can’t wait to see the faces of everyone when we come back. It serves them right for making fun of you guys.” I say, anger building up inside me. I always hated how everyone makes fun of the guys just because they dance. They don’t understand that dancers are just as manly as football players, and it makes me want to punch the people that tease them.
“Patience. The farther we get, the more they’re gonna feel bad.” He says, since I started to turn red from anger.
“Sorry, but you guys know how mad I get.” I say and he smiles at me.
“Yeah, and we really appreciate you standing up for us, Kahtea. Honestly; we all do.” He says as we walk up the ramp and split into our different locker rooms. P.E. went slowly, since we knew it was our last class until our future. Finally, it ended and Vinny and I burst out of the locker rooms and practically ran over to Madison and Nick, where we all have a huge group hug.
“I'm so proud of us.” I say in the middle of our group hug. They all just squeeze us tighter and we let go.
“Embrace it, dancer boys. That’s the most action you’re gonna get in your life.” The jock from the first day of school says.
“Oh fuck no.” I say angrily, spinning around quickly and punching him square in the chin, making a sickening crack as he falls to the floor in pain and shock.
“Come on guys, let’s go.” I say, turning back around and leading the way down the street towards ICON to go meet Geo for final details. We walk along in silence over to ICON, my fists clenched at my sides.
“Relax, Kahtea.” Vinny says as he rubs my shoulder to calm me down. I take a deep breath and slowly unclench my fists.
“Damn Kahtea, that was a solid hit.” Nick says, laughing slightly. I laugh and calm down, smiling at them all.
“I couldn’t let him just make fun of you guys like that. Plus, I won’t see him for a while, so I just thought ‘Fuck it.’” I say, smiling at all the guys.
“Thanks Kahtea.” Madison says, smiling at me. I smile back and open the door as we walk into ICON.
“Ah, there’s the final four!” Geo says as we walk in.
“Hey there, hot stuff.” Mikey says as he slides his arm around my shoulders.
“Dude, you missed it. She totally punched the Pee- Wee football starter quarterback right in the jaw.” Nick says, laughing. Mikey stares at me with an amused expression.
“That’s hot.” He says, smirking. I roll my eyes to see Geo staring at me seriously.
“Why did you punch him, Kahtea?” he says sternly, almost warningly.
“Because he was making fun of the guys for being dancers.” I mumble. Geo’s face instantly softens and he smiles.
“Oh, okay then. I’m glad you stood up for them. Good job.” He says, smiling and I smile back.
“Alright, everyone, let’s go into the studio where your parents are waiting and we’ll talk about the trip and such.” He says, leading us into the studio where I first witnessed the ICONic Boyz. I shrug off Mikey’s arm as we walk in and I walk over to my parents that ware talking to Vin’s parents.
