Day 1 of Subexperiment A

Due to complications with compatibility issues, [strikeout] has ordered for us to extend our searches with potential candidates. Unfortunately, the list included [strikeout]. Though I was reluctant to submit her to testing, the order was to begin immediately. The sedative was administered at 2:27 AM in her sleeping quarters in Highgate, and allowed for easy capturing and confinement. The subject was tied down in a separate chamber from other candidates (different from the first few series, including the failed number 21). She slept peacefully for the next five and a half hours before we woke her.

At 7:29, the subject seemed fully conscious but did not seem aware of her surroundings. She was carefully dosed by [strikeout] with an amnesia injection which kept her in a blissful state of ignorance. The subject willingly took the first round of Ruby. After nurses [strikeout] and [strikeout]prepared her, no adverse or immediate reactions happened. After thirty minutes of the drop, she was unplugged for a physical. She was taken to the first chamber for experimenting. The first test involved filling the room with water. The subject was given a minute of oxygen before the entire room was filled; she completed the task in less than forty five seconds. Though the first fifteen seconds were spent in complete panic, she collected herself and swam to the other side. Asides from breaking the record from time (0:39), the subject was able to find an alternative method to escaping. The usual method being a shower-head and cord down the toilet in order to leech oxygen from the pipes, she was able to float up to a grate in the ceiling meant for heating and ventilation and use the same cord to tap into the oxygen pipes. When she consumed enough, she swam down to the viewing mirror and shattered it, falling into an empty hall leading to the door to the next room, a false "safe room" for the next test. Her outside thinking will be a part of the recommendation for the next stage. The second test proved much simpler and took only an hour or so. The subject proved to be efficient in close-hand combat when we sent two actors as "violent rescuers" (* their task was to appear as kidnappers identifying as men trying to "assist" her – her recognition of their lie will be duly noted)

Day 15 of Subexperiment A

With the formula for Ruby having been upgraded since the failures with Patient 21, many significant changes have been observed within the subject's brain chemistry. Several normal symptoms and side effects of [strikeout] have already shown themselves. The subject now takes her medication three to five times daily, up to the point it has greatly affected her behavior in examinations. She has completed the water test again at the record speed of 17 seconds, defeating the previous record of 23 (Patient 11 – O) for females. Regular physical and mental examinations have been made; her results on testing have improved exponentially since before treatment (the subject was top twenty-five in Highgate, intelligence-quota wise) and in physical, even more so. The subject is still, however, struggling with [strikeout], such as found in the case of 21. The team is praying she does not end up an a failure equivalent to the one he was. The patient is now openly conversing with her nurses and doctors but has not been notified of her location or occupation or relation to me. The orders from [strikeout] were clear; she must not be reminded of her past life until she is cleared for Stage Three. She is only in the middle of One. One can only hope she makes it through Two, when the transformation truly begins. The formulas for that have been altered, and she will be the first to undergo these changes.

Day 51 of Subexperiment A

The patient has been screaming in her sleep. Stage Two has begun. The regularly occurring symptoms have joined as well; paranoia, nightmares, chills, hysteria, insomnia, and constant nausea. She is still taking her meals but scarcely, only taking enough to keep herself in physical form in fear of losing it to the sickness. Her results have proved more positive than 21, an auspicious sign towards her success. She is more stable and has not taken to self mutilation or deprivation or violence, but she has taken to covering the camera situated in the corner at night. We are unable to see her struggles come night-time, but careful examinations of the room and her have allowed us to conclude the screams are just that; screams. No efforts to harm herself have been made yet. Her Ruby dosage has increased dramatically, often replacing meals. She now takes it in tablet form as well with 50 milliliters of water. [strikeout] has been pushing us into begin delivering doses of [strikeout] despite her only being early into Stage Two. Until she is at least halfway, no efforts toward speeding the process can be made, unless the process is to her and the project's grave. Regular physicals are still being made.
