-Phil-
He didn't want to just sit around all day, doing nothing and staring at a wall...he'd done that plenty of times before; it wasn't really that fun. Most of his unpacking was done, and they still didn't have WiFi at the house yet, so Netflix was out of the option. There was literally nothing for Phil to do during this grey, rainy Monday.
His mum was asleep, as he expected. The last few days had been tough on her, what with all of the packing, loading, and driving, not to mention the fact that she had hardly gotten any sleep during that. Phil wanted to go and look at his "new" school...the one that he'd be attending for the next two years (A/N I don't think that I've mentioned this before, but in this fic, Dan and Phil are both in their third year of highschool), but didn't think that it'd be okay to go to it yet. They were probably already halfway through first hour, and he didn't want his mum to be mad at him.
Maybe if I just go over and say that I'm starting later this week...that I want to see how the school works and where some of my classes will be so that I won't get as lost..maybe they'll let me just go with someone with most of the same classes as me for the rest of the day, Phil thought. He doubted it would work, but he had to do something. Staying cooped up inside was going to drive him mad if he was in any longer.
"Be back later, went out" he wrote on a sticky-note and placed it on his mum's book that was laying on the table.
It wasn't entirely a lie, he was going "out"..he just didn't really say where he was going. He knew his mum would trust him though, he had never snuck out or done anything bad. Phil was a good kid, and yeah, maybe he was a bit of a "teacher's pet" or whatever they were called, but he didn't really care. I kept his grades up, and his mum happy...that was all that he cared about.
-Dan-
First hour was almost when he was called down to the office..well...not really him but he was included. One of his friends was called down, and their teacher sent the both of them down, since he knew that Dan wouldn't participate without Maddy in class with him.
He was always quiet, doing his work..but not really paying attention, and that was when Maddy was in class with him. Math wasn't Dan's strong suit, he understood what to do, and did what was told..but he didn't always understand why he had to do the things they were instructed to do. This was the only class that he was "struggling" with, since just didn't really care.
His work always had doodles scattered around the page, and sarcastic comments written about problems he didn't understand...he honestly didn't care about math.
"Dan, come on, if you're going to keep on walking this slow I'm going to leave you behind," Maddy said, turning back to look at him.
"Sorry Mads, I'm just kinda tired," he told her, picking up pace a bit and earning a concerned look from Maddy...she knew that it was almost always a lie when Dan said that he was tired; it was like when he said that he was fine.
"..okay," she responded hesitantly, and turned back around so that she could see where she was walking.
