Recap:

“Hello. I would like to know what room Mrs Stevens is in.” I said to the receptionist.

“She’s in room 402. She got moved there yesterday. I’m sorry.” She said in a remorseful voice.

I gave her a funny look and walked to the elevator with Olli.

“What was that all about?” Olli asked.

I shrugged. I didn’t know what the lady was talking about either.

Neither did I know what was going to happen in a few minutes that would cause such an impact on my life.

Room 402 was on the 4th floor. It was in a secluded area away from every other room.  Olli and I walked to the door. I gripped the door handle and was just about to turn it when a large hand rested on mine.

“You can’t go in there yet. She is still under recovery.” The doctor said removing his hand.

“Under recovery? Why weren’t we notified about this earlier?” I asked.

I deserved to be notified. I am her daughter! I looked up at the doctor through my eyelashes as I glared at him. The doctor didn’t seem to be older than thirty. He had dark brown hair and a shaved beard. He wore glasses with black frames and he had blue eyes.

“A few days ago, when she was doing well we asked her if she wanted to do surgery to take out the tumour. She agreed but told us not to tell you until it were over. This is why I am telling you now. Sorry. You might be able to see her in two days” He explained walking away.

The news hit like a block. I could feel my legs give way. I would have been on floor if Olli hadn’t helped me up.

“What has my mum done?” I asked whispering.

“She did something to make herself better! When she comes out she will be feeling better and be able to be there for you more.” She stated assertively.

“You’re right.” I croaked drying my tears and sitting up. “I have to be strong and optimistic.”

“Exactly! Now let’s go to Starbucks. I need my daily dose of coffee.” Olli announced dragging me up with her.

We walked out the door of the hospital and drove to the shopping centre. There was a small Starbucks shop there. We walked in an ordered. I ordered a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and Olli ordered a Cinnamon Dolce Latte. I needed something sweet to drown the pain.

“So.” Olli said.

“So what?” I asked.

“What are we going to do about you and Harry? You can’t just sit here and mope!” Olli exclaimed

“Yes I can! I’m going to sit here and drink my Frappuccino!” I told her.

Olli brightened up. She put her thinking face on and started smirking.

“What are you thinking about?”  I asked confused. When Olli had that face on nothing good came out of it.

“You stay here. I’m going to toilet. I’ll be back in a minute.” She said grinning.

Olli’s POV

I walked into the bathroom grinning mischievously. I had to get Harry and Carri together! They would be perfect. The only downside is that Harry isn’t sure about his feelings. I know this because he told me.

*Flashback*

“Bye Mum I’m going to work!” I told my mum walking out of the door.

I got into my car and drove to the Starbucks that I worked in. My workmate was there so I waved hi to her before grabbing my apron from my locker.

“Hello! Welcome to Starbucks! What would you like today?” I asked looking down at the till.

“An Espresso please.” A man’s voice said.

“Harry? What are you doing here?” I asked looking up.

He was wearing a disguise. Black jeans, a white t shirt and converse, he also had a beanie on his head.

“I need to talk to you and Niall told me you worked here.” He replied.

I blushed. I had been spending a lot of time with Niall. It was fun to be with him. I don’t have to spend every living moment of my life with my family or Carri do I?

“Well today I have a short shift so give me two hours and I’ll be ready.” I told him.

He nodded and went to an empty table while I began making his espresso. Two hours later I was sitting beside Harry.

“So what did you want to talk about that was so important?” I asked taking a sup of my coffee.

“I think I like Carri.” He replied not beating around the bush.

I had a coughing fit. Since when? Last time I heard him talking about Carri he said he only liked her as friends.

“What do you mean?” I asked after I got over my coughing fit.

He explained to me what he felt. “When Carri’s not here I feel like the room goes dark and everything becomes boring. She light up my world. Ugh! I must sound like a sappy little twelve year old in the puppy love stage.”

“Yeah you do.” I told him.

He glared at me.

“It’s okay but she believes that you think the two of you are just friends.” I said taking a gulp of my coffee.

“I know. I messed up and I need your help. How do I get her back?” he asked.

I thought for a bit. “Well first you need to show her. Bring her flowers or something. Take her on a date but at first don’t call it a date because then she’ll get confused. She’d think you’re sending mixed signals.” I explained.

He nodded then stood up. “I have to go now. The others will be wondering where I am now. See you.”

He gave me a hug then left. I sat back at my chair drinking my coffee. “This is good. Oh I can’t believe it!” I said laughing.

*End of Flashback*

I called Harry. “Harry? Here’s what you’re going to do….
