I slowly got off my bed; my movements were sluggish due to my tiredness. I didn’t have a lot of sleep last night because I was worrying about what would happen today. My ‘date’, I know I’m over thinking it but it roamed my mind and there was nothing I could do about it.

I shuffled over to the window and pulled the curtains open.  I winced as the bright sun rays entered the room. I blinked a few times to get used to the light. Afterwards I made my way to my bathroom.  I looked up at the mirror and saw the disaster that was my face.

My hair was sticking up in weird places; I had enormous bags under my eyes, which looked red and bloodshot. To make it worse I was pretty sure that I had a line of dried drool starting at my mouth and ending up halfway across my face. Eww. I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I looked in the mirror again and was delighted that my face looked remotely normal though my hair was all over the place. I threw it up in a bun so I wouldn’t have to deal with it.

I walked back to the room and proceeded to wake Olli up.

“Olli,” I said in a sing song voice stretching out the vowels. “It’s time to get up.” I continued, giving her shoulder a little shake.

To my dismay she only snuggled into the covers more and mumbled something that sounded vaguely like ‘a few more minutes.’

“Fine, you asked for it,” I replied.

I jogged down the stairs and ran into the kitchen. I retrieved a glass from the cabinet and filled it with cold water. I carefully made my way back upstairs. When I reached my room I was surprised to see that Olli had cocooned herself I the quilt. Shaking my head I walked over to my bed and pulled the quilt down a little. I tilted the cup of water and the water poured down on her face and upper torso.

“Ahh!” Olli screamed sitting up. “What was that for? I was having an awesome dream. I was getting to the part where I kissed Ni–“

“You kissed someone? Who? Tell me!” I teased poking her sides.

“Pft. No one. Now back to my previous question, what was that for?” She questioned.

“Go brush, I’m gonna make breakfast. What do you want?” I asked her not answering her question.

Giving me a dirty look she replied, “I want pancakes!”

I laughed and made my way downstairs. Setting out the ingredients I began making the homemade breakfast. 25 minutes later, the pancakes were made and Olli and I were sitting down eating our breakfast.

“These are lovely!” Olli moaned.

I looked at her in amusement. “Uh huh, make sure you don’t fall in love with the pancakes.”

She gave me a dirty look but continued eating. She had taken a shower before she came downstairs and was wearing some of my clothes.

“I want those back. I really like that top,” I told her.

“You’ll get them back. Someday,” she mumbled.

When we finished eating, I put the dishes in the sink and began to wash them while Olli dried them.

“What are you going to wear for your date?” She enquired.

“I don’t know yet, I’ll pick something out later.” I informed her.

We had finished the dishes and we were now in my room as Olli grabbed her clothes from yesterday.

“Well, I’ve to go home now, see you tomorrow when you tell me all about your date.” She teased, “See ya!”
