Garroth's POV
Another week had past. My head gaurd came toward me and dipped his head.
"Lord Garroth. Phoenix Drop Lord and gaurds are at the front gate."
"W-what?!" I basically yelled.
I leaped onto Angel and rode through town as quick as I could. As I caught sight of the gate I scanned the visiters. I rode up to them and saw as they stared at me in anger. Katlyn stood out though. She scares the hell out of me.
"What's your business here?" I stated, calmly.
Then the crowd split apart to let Aphmau trot up on Spade. I held my breath.
"We are here to only bring back the wagon you left in our village. Now that you have paid what you stole, there is no need for anything else. Our villages will go about how they were before. No changes." She growled with a cold stare.
I glanced around then laid my eyes back on her.
"I would like to speak with you, lady Aphmau." I muttered.
"Im afraid that's not necessary." She turned her horse.
"Im afraid it is... In case you want a war." I lied.
She froze, a frown growing on her face. She rode past me toward the meeting room. She mounted off then walked up the stairs without saying a word. I did the same and led her to the meeting room. She sat on the opposite side of me and gave me the most terrifying glare. I gulped and started the conversation.
"Lord Aphmau. About that day on the beach... I-" she cut me off.
"Im not willing to hear that story sir. Im only here for the wagon and what you say about war. Nothing else." She huffed.
"Unless you want war, I suggest you listen." I hissed.
She froze, opening her mouth to say something. But fell silent.
"Good. Now. That day. I sincerely apologies for my behavior. I was just... Dazed." I muttered.
She looked up from the table. Her eyes weren't angry... They were sad, hurt, depressed. Just broken. I stared in confusion. Then she finally spoke.
"Then your daze can stay at the beach. Goodday Lord Garroth." Her voice broke as a silver tear rolled down her cheek.
She quickly stood and bolted out the door. I quickly ran after her yelling her name. I didnt mean it like that. She mounted her horse and took off. I got on Angel and took off after her. I saw her talking to Laurence and he nodded. Then she saw me and muttered something. She then took off down the road to Metelli. As she rode I yelled for her. She ignored my yells and rode faster. Damn stallions are always faster. Although, mares have better stamina. I continued my pace, her still in my few. She realised my tactics and leaped over the river. I followed, almost missing the jump. Her stallion soon got tired and slowed down. I finally rode up next to her and grabbed her arm. She struggled for me to let go. Then my grip slipped and I let go of her arm. My horse braked to a hault. Her stallion haulted also but threw her off. I looked in front of me to see a large cliff. I heard a scream from Aphmau and looked down. She was clinging onto a rock on the side. She was slowly slipping because of the damp moss. I quickly jumped off of Angel and to the edge of the cliff. I reached down to Aphmau, she was only an inch away. I finally made a quick lean and grabbed her wrist. She let go of the rock and clung to my arm. I stuggled to pull her up but soon succeeded. I yanked her over the edge and accidentally onto me. We both sat up, terrified. I stared at her with wide eyes as her eyes filled with the silver water. She leaped at me, wrapping her arms around my neck. I didn't hesitate to wrap my my hands around her waist. She quietly sobbed into my neck. I tightened my grip on her waist. After a few minutes she pulled away and gave a broken smile.
"T-thank you, Garroth."
My heart skipped a beat when she didn't call me Lord. I gave a sad smile and wiped away her tears with my sleeve. She chuckled lightly and gently pushed my arm away.
"I guess this is the second time huh." She smiled lightly.
"Yea. But that wolf would have died either way." I laughed.
"Not that." Her face was unreadable.
"What do you m----"
