I ran out of the room with my gun in my hand, peaking around every corner. The blood curdling screams weren't stopping. They just kept coming, crying out for help. I continued down the hallway, and reached the room the screams were originating from. "Help me! Help me! There's a monster here! He's going to kill me! He's already killed all the others!" The others? While that might have made my job easier, it didn't help explain what this monster was. Or who was screaming. I entered the room slowly, and saw a woman in the middle, on the ground, facing me, her face pale as snow. I asked, "Hey. Who are you, and what are you doing here?" For a moment she didn't speak, then, she opened her mouth, letting out another scream. "Stay away from me! I don't want to die! Not like the soldiers! Not like my teammate!" It dawned on me that she was part of the group after control of the island, but I was confused. What soldiers? The only other person I had seen here since I arrived was the knife wielding Fate in the main hanger. No soldiers. "What do you mean by the soldiers? There is no one else here." She went quiet and lowered her head. After a few minutes, she stood up laughing quietly. "Wow Snake. I never thought you would be so dense. The monster I'm talking about...is you. The legendary Solid Snake that single handedly murdered all the soldiers on the island not so long ago." I was the monster? If I hadn't completed that job, the world would have been thrown into complete chaos. Liquid would have become the strongest man on the planet with an army backing him up. She spoke again while walking to me slowly. "Don't worry Snake. You may have committed a horrible murder, but you can be forgiven. I'll help you too. Help you obtain your redemption. In death." She lunged at me, knocking me off balance and pulling a pistol on me and taking aim. Once I caught myself, I knocked her arm away, and shot at her, but she had already moved by the time I aimed. She was well trained in CQC, able to block most of my attacks. After exchanging a few blows, she was able to trip me up, and once again took aim, this time, having enough time to shoot. And with that, I was hit. "Well Snake. It's been fun. I'm glad to see that you were somewhat of a challenge. But, like all my foes, you were a failure in the end. Rest now, hero." She headed for the door. "Rookie mistake lady. Any real soldier should know not to turn their back on an opponent until they are surely dead." Fear turned around quickly with a gasp, and I lodged a bullet straight into her forehead, killing her instantly. I reached into the pocket on my vest and pulled the Mario statue out. "The toy combined with my vest was able to stop the bullet. Hm. Thank you for your big nose." Now with another member out of the way, I headed back upstairs, and deeper into Shadow Moses. It was high time I get the show on the road with these people.
