Netting the New Comer
The car ends up at a castle, the dirt driveway is long. Once the car stops, the man lets himself out. A new servant opens the door for her. Mira walks straight to the trunk of the car where all of her black suitcases and bags are.
"Mira, let the servants carry your bags," the man's eyebrows are furrowed.
"Fine," she sighs. She picks up one of her gym bags and hands it to one of the men. He grabs the handle with both hands and immediately bends over from the weight.
"Careful, that could kill you if you aren't careful," she warns. Then Mira grabs the rest of her bags easily, another man and a teenage girl walk out the front doors.
"Is that her?!" The girl shrieks. She has lighter brown hair than her brother, deep indigo eyes, milky white skin, deep red lips, flushed cheeks, a fairly curved frame, she's short, and skinny.
"Settle down little sister, she won't have any time to spend it with you," the man next to her seems to scan Mira up and down. He has short jet black hair, captivating icy blue eyes, a tall, muscular frame, and a suit like his younger brother.
"That isn't creepy at all brother," the man from the car mutters. Mira ignores them and walks inside. Just as she expected, the main room is huge. She listens for the throne room, and follows the king and queens' voices. Once she gets there the vampire rulers give her fake smiles. The room reminds her the gothic vampire trademark look.
"Did you call me here for fake camaraderie," Mira asks, "or am I going to make sure your son doesn't die?"
"We summoned you to ensure our son's life will be safe in your hands," the queen sings.
"We are going to test your abilities as a Huntress," the king's deep voice rumbles. As soon as he finishes a giant wolf is taken from its chamber, it is pulled back from its chains.
"Your test starts now," as soon as he finishes the sentence the wolf is free. It bounds straight for their eldest son. She sets down her things. Before Mira thinks, she is standing in front of him with her arm in the beast's mouth. It breaks skin, she kicks it hard in the stomach. The monster is flung halfway across the room. It lets out a high pitched yelp as it quickly stands. Mira walks up to it, she uncoils the whip from around her arm. The wolf whimpers and scrambles away, its claws scratch the tiled floor. The silver whip wraps around its muzzle. She stares straight into its eyes for a moment before demanding,
"Turn." The monster whimpers but doesn't intend to obey. She pulls at the whip to make it tighter.
"I told you to Turn," she orders.
"What are you doing? Aren't you supposed to kill it?" The girl asks.
"Let her work Rebecca," the queen says sweetly. The wolf's bones crack and pop as it turns into a man. Her eyes scan him before removing the whip.
"Alpha, a high position for a wolf with a weak strategy," Mira says blandly.
"I don't have a weak strategy," his eyes dart over to the group of royal heirs. Mira uses her speed to pull out the gun from her thigh holster and run in a black blur to the vampires. She points the gun at the werewolf while she chokes the vampire that snuck up on the eldest heir.
"Meredith, your test won't be over until you kill them." The king's voice announces.
"I'd much rather make them suffer," she says before biting into the vampire's neck. She doesn't drink, only bites deeply. She throws him across the room writhing and screaming in agony.
"Why are you helping them if you're one of us?" The man asks.
"I was never a werewolf, which means I'm not one of you, alpha." Mira kicks him, a loud crack sounds from the werewolf's ribs. He lands on his stomach, unconscious. She shoots him in the upper part of the back where he won't be able to reach. The skin turns red like a rash. Mira calls a servant over.
"Don't let him take that silver bullet out when he wakes up," she points to the man on the ground. She holsters her gun and recoils the whip around her left arm. Mira glances at her arm that was bloodied, the skin closed easily. She walks back in front of the Monarchs, they stare at her as if they're thinking.
"Father. You never told us she wasn't human," the oldest says.
"There was never a point to which you had asked," the king seems to have made a choice, "I would feel better if you start soon. Train with our children. Personally I would feel safer." He looks at his wife for final say.
"You start guarding our son tomorrow. Tonight, settle in." She gives a real smile this time. Mira grabs her belongings before following a woman servant to her new room.
