Duel
They work on archery for the rest of the week.
"When are we going to work on something new," the youngest prince asks. Mira grabs a sword from the display rack for that same prince, then for herself.
"If you use that sword to pierce my heart then you can do whatever you want today," she replies.
"I'm not doing this," he looks at her skeptically.
"Then shoot some more arrows." The prince uses his speed to catch Mira off guard. She blocks the blade with ease.
"You'll have to do better," she dodges his attacks. She sees an opening in his defense and uses it. She trips him, his blade clatters to the ground.
"You agree with my terms and not complain?" She asks. He doesn't speak, she pushes the blade into his chest. It doesn't touch his heart, only pierces one of his lungs, "it would be wise not to disobey me, Samuel." He looks up at her and whispers,
"Fine." Black blood slowly trickles from his mouth. Mira pulls the blade out quickly.
"Remember, you did that to yourself." With that she drops the blade and walks back to her room.
Once she closes the door her back slides against the wood until she's sitting. Mira stares into the darkness of the room. Tears roll down her cheeks, no sounds fill the room. She wipes the tears before changing into plaid pants and a sweatshirt. Mira lays in her bed and closes her eyes.
