The men had mentioned that they were worried that these kidnappings wouldn’t stop and seemed to spread to every corner of the city like a plague.  I managed to find out that a girl named Claudia Renning went missing six months ago.  They had finally noticed that I was eavesdropping and decided to whisper amongst each other.  The whispering eventually ceased and they had started on a new topic.  I ordered a pumpkin muffin and exited the small bakery.  I quickly ate my muffin and dove around the city some more paying attention to every detail.  As I drove around the city I noticed a mysterious figure.  The figure was a man wearing a trench coat as brown as brownies and an odd top hat.  I had a feeling in my gut telling me to follow the mysterious man, so I did.

I had eventually driven up to a large, aged castle made out of rock that appeared to have been standing for centuries with its large iron gate standing firm and proud like they were guardians of the castle.  My target slipped into the castle like a shadow creeping in the night.  I read something engraved on a metal plate that hung by a nearby post.  It read, “Dublin Castle.”  Curiosity was slaughtering me.  I had to know what was inside.  I had to follow my suspect.  There must have been clues inside those walls; there had to be.

I parked my bike about a block away next to a small pub.  In the air the smell of freshly brewing beer was trapped.  I walked up to the tall castle gates and examined the lock.  I pulled out my keys and inserted them into the lock.  With a small twist of the wrist I heard a click and the iron gates opened, creaking as loudly as a siren.  I closed them behind me hoping that I wouldn’t draw attention to myself.  I walked up to the doors of the castle to find them cracked open.  I had hoped that my suspect accidentally left the doors open and didn’t realize that I was stalking him.  I entered the castle and was greeted by its breathtaking appearance.  It was like a new world.  The large windows let in the moonlight like they were welcoming the night.  Out of the corner of my eye I noticed my suspect going into a room.  I crouched down and got close to the wall.  Walking against the wall, still crouched down, I made my way up the stone stairs and with golden designs.  As I neared the end of the hallway I reached an old wooden door.  I again used my keys to unlock another door.  I walked into a dark room and found a winding stairway.  I climbed the stairs until I reached the top of the Corke Tower.  The wind blew my hair out of my face and it caused me to shiver.  Not a moment after I reached the top of the Corke Tower I heard the cock of a gun.  I turned around to see my target.  It was an Irish man with brown hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.  He was fairly tall and had a sly half-smile on his face.

“Well, who do we have here?” he asked me.

“A person,” I said reaching into my sleeve to retrieve my laser gun.

“Uh, uh, uh,” the man scolded. “I don’t think fighting will get you anywhere.”

“Well, aren’t you clever,” I sassed. “I don’t believe you’ve introduced yourself.”

“I am Edgar Buldar. And you are?”

“Venus,” I said. “Venus Gulding.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Venus. Why are you at the Dublin Castle so late?” he asked.

“I could ask you the same thing,” I responded as Edgar glared at me.

For a moment we stood there in complete silence like we were mute.  Edgar continued to point his cocked gun at me.  Without much thought I spit in his face causing him to stumble backwards a little.  I knocked the gun out of his hand causing a bullet to shoot off into the distance.  I ran down the stairs quickly, but Edgar was right behind me like I was his prey and he wasn’t going to lose me.  I reached the end of the stairs and I struggled to find my keys to unlock the doors, thus resulting in Edgar coming up behind me and knocking me out with a rock.
