What did dad ever do to deserve this?
Sat up against his old bedroom door, I wasn't even crying. I was in to much shock. What should I do? I just sat there for a long time, wondering what do to, where I could go. The whole house creaked when the wind blew. I leaned with it.
"Brynn." I could heard his voice say. I looked around the halls. I knew he wasn't here, but my head was playing tricks on me. Black dots started to cover my vision. I couldn't black out. Who would be here to help me? That's when ashes started to fly around the gray house. Ashes? But then I realized the trees around were burning. Burning, burning, burning. I started to scream.
My own screams woke me up. My eyes flew open and I was breathing heavy. My face was tight from dried out tears. I sat on the bridge in the valley dad and I always used to go to. I guess I came here and sat here and fell asleep. My back hurt when I sat up from the position I was in. I needed to get back home, so I walked through the woods and to the house dad and I used to live in. I walked up onto the front porch. When I stuck the key into the front door and opened it, a piece of paper flittered out. It landed by my combat boots. I leaned over and picked it up. It had my name written on it in cursive. I didn't dare open it. I walked into the house and threw my keys and the letter onto the kitchen counter. I'll burn that letter soon.
