He gets to the address with Ten minutes to spare. He knocks on the door.
A man opens the door. The man seems huge in weight and tall in gigantic sort way.
He looked like someone you just wouldn't want to mess with. He eyes George suspiciously "Yes?."
George smiles nervously. "Delivery from Mr Briggs sir." George hands over the package. The man slams the door without so much of a thank you.
George shakes his head and shrugs it off. He runs straight to his car in a hurry and heads straight for the warehouse.
He reaches the warehouse with very little traffic. Two men appear to be guarding the door like a pair of vicious Rottweilers.
George grins at their pathetic attempt to look menacing when really these guys were no less than 18 and barely an adult wasting their life away working for a gangster.
He gets out the car and walks towards them. "I was summoned by the boss."
They nodded at him and let him pass.Mr Briggs was sitting in his usual spot with a cigarette in his right hand. "Ah there you are.. Take a seat."
George takes a seat his curiosity aroused. "Mr Briggs, What can I do for you."
Mr Briggs grins and flicks his fingers. Another man came forward immediately with a brown envelope. The man bowed and left Mr Briggs and George to it.
George frowned "What's that.. Another delivery?."
Mr Briggs shook his head and took out the contents of the envelope.
George looks at the contents closely then looks at Mr Briggs angrily. "You've been watching my house?."Mr Briggs nods. "For insurance purposes yes.. I have."
George sighs "And this is for what.. Exactly?."
Mr Briggs leans back. "She seems very pretty.. Very pretty indeed.. I'd like to meet her."
George gets up "No way..She knows nothing about this.. She's perfectly innocent and I see no reason to involve her in all this."
Two men appear from nowhere and stand at side of him and together they push him down into the seat.
Mr Briggs smiled "You don't have a choice.. Unless of course you'd rather I'd turn you over to the police."
George laughs "But then all your operations would be stopped and you too would be arrested and sent to prison."
Mr Briggs shrugged "That's just a risk I'm going to have to take and then when I'm free from prison I will find you and make you pay."
He leans forward to George. "I always get what I want in the end.. Always."
George looks at him in fear and gets up legging it from the warehouse.
He picks up his phone from his pocket. He sends a text to Grace.
Meet me at mine now!! Urgent. He gets into the car and races madly back to his place.
He sees Grace waiting for him outside. She smiles "Hey you.. What's wrong?."George looks around worriedly and looks at Grace. "It would be best if we discussed this inside." He ushered her indoors.
Grace looks at him in fear. "What..What's wrong?."George sighs and sits down. "I lied to you Grace."
Grace looks confused. "What do you mean you lied?."
He looks at her in shame. "I work for a drug dealing gangster."
Her eyes and her face were filled with a mixture of shock and fear. "You're lying."
He shakes his head. "I'm not."
She frowns "Anything else you haven't told me about?."
He looks toward the window and puts the radio on. Grace frowns "What are you doing?!".
He moves Grace's head to look at him. "I have to tell you this and the radio is on incase they are listening and they have listening bugs all over the place."
Grace sits down on the sofa. "Okay.. Go on."
He walks toward the safe and takes out what looks to be a wallet. He squeezes it in his hand.
He sits next to Grace. "My name isn't really George Ryan, I'm not a criminal but an under cover police officer named Special agent Carlos Jeffries."
She sighs for a moment taking it all in. "I suppose I haven't been entirely truthful either."
She goes on to explain about the two police officers who approached her to go undercover and find out more about his criminal activities.
Carlos frowns "Who was these police officers?."
Grace frowns trying to remember. "Special Agent James Ridley and Special Agent Angela Rivers."
Carlos barely blinked an eyelid when he heard these names because he suddenly realised he knew these names. "I know them."
Grace looks at him in shock . "Know them how exactly?."
Carlos sighs "I know them because I work with them."
