Under suspicion

Chapter 16

When they arrived at the lockup, Grace and Carlos looked at each other nervously. Carlos smiled at her.

He was actually trying to reassuring himself but sadly that didn't work. Grace wasn't exactly feeling in high spirits either.

They exited the car together and walked into the warehouse hand in hand.

The mob boss was sitting down at a desk. It was the only piece of furniture in the warehouse..whilst the rest of the warehouse was empty except for The Mob Boss's employers.

Grace and Carlos walked up to the desk together still hand in hand.

Carlos empties his throat. "Mr Briggs.. I'd like you to meet my Girlfriend Grace."

Grace flinches at Carlos's statement that she was his girlfriend to Mr Briggs..It felt weird to her..She barely knew this guy but she really liked him..heaven knows why..

Mr Briggs stands up to greet Carlos. "George! Glad you could make it.." He turns to Grace and touches her hair brushing it out the way and brushing her cheek until eventually he was holding her chin. "Such a pretty little thing.."

Grace pushes his hand away. "You wanted to meet me, So what do you want?."

Mr Briggs grins. "I think that's up to me..Grace don't you?.."

Grace opens her mouth to speak..until Carlos looks at her shaking his head. "That was a rhetorical question..I wouldn't anger him.. If I were you dear.."

Grace hated every second of this situation.. she hated that slimeball Mr Briggs and she wanted to turn and run away right now but she promised to support Carlos.

Mr Briggs laughed. "I'd listen to You're pathetic boyfriend..If I were you."

Grace rolled her eyes at him. "What do you want?."

Mr Briggs shrugged. "I'm sure we could sort something out..and soon enough we will find the perfect job for you."

Carlos sighs. "Fine, What is it gonna take for you to leave us alone and let us go?."

Mr Briggs opened his jacket and pulled out a white card that read:

Mr Briggs passed the card to Carlos. " Get yourself a room in here and One of my men will contact you in due course..now go and leave me, You're dismissed for now."
