(Abby's P.O.V.)
I walked around the corner and down the stairs. I still had a half an hour until volleyball tryouts, but I wanted to find Jacob. I saw some of the kids that are usually in trouble cornering a kid at the bottom of the stairs. "What the hell is wrong with you, you little gay boy." I suddenly realized it was Jacob. I jumped in front of a punch a kid threw at Jacob. It hit me hard in the stomach. I fell down. "Abby!" Jacob shouted. The bully turned around and looked at me and then looked back at Jacob. "What a cute attempt from your girlfriend to try and save you." Then he punched Jacob in the face making his nose bleed. in the meantime I was getting back up. I tapped the bully on his shoulder and he turned around and I hit him square in the face. I was wearing a ring which made his lip bleed, and I was 100% sure I broke his nose. He and his friends ran away. I ran to Jacob. He was sitting on the floor holding his nose. I took him by his elbows and pulled him up. He could stand up fine, which was good. "Thank you" he said, his voice slurring. I was concerned, he looked terrible. His shirt was ruined, covered with blood. "Come on" I said, taking him to the nurses office. I ended up missing volleyball tryouts, and staying an extra hour. The buses had already left so I walked him home once the nurse fixed him up. He looked weak. His parents weren't home yet so I came inside to help. He tried opening the door with his key, but I don't think he could see straight. "Here I got it." I took his hand and grabbed the keys and he moved out of the way. I opened the door and handed the key back to him. We walked in, and I closed the door. I walked up the stairs behind him making sure he didn't fall. He changed his shirt, then got in bed, I kissed him on the head, made sure he didn't need anything else, and told him If he did to just text me and I would be over, he said "Thanks" and with that I left him to rest. The Next Day
(Jacob's P.O.V.)
(Saturday) Her mom let me in again and I walked up the stairs to her bedroom. The door was halfway open, so I walked in. She had on an oversized hoodie and some yoga pants. She was definitely feeling the effects of yesterday. I sat down next to her "Hey" she said. Her voice raspy. "Are you ok?" "Yes" "Show me it" I said. "What?" she retorted "show me" I repeated. she did. she lifted up her sweatshirt and revealed a huge bruise across her whole stomach. "Shit Abby, I'm supposed to be the one protecting you. not the other way around." she looked sad. I sat closer and hugged her hard. i kissed her forehead and she looked at me. "How are you?" she asked "better" I said. "Can you stay for a while?" she asked "Sure" I responded. We ended up watching a movie on Netflix. I didn't know what it was, but I also didn't care. she was beautiful and she made it very clear that she would take a bullet for me and I would do the same for her. My mom loved her. When she got home last night after Abby left she asked who had been here because she thought it smelled nice and knew that it wasn't me. I told her everything. How she took a punch to the gut for me, missed her volleyball tryouts for me, took me to the nurse to get cleaned up, walked me home, and made sure I didn't need anything afterwards. She was so great, she dropped had everything for me. Its hard to find someone so loyal like Abby now a days. "Abby." She turned her head towards me. "Will you come over for dinner tomorrow?" "Why?" "My mom wanted to cook a thank you dinner for you." "I'd like that a lot." she saidSomeone from school asked me who I liked today. I couldn't think of anyone except Jacob.😂 #reasonsIhavenolife
