*Scott's POV*

"Just once?" I offered.

"No, Scott!" Mitch said.

"But-" I started.

"Scott!"

"Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi, one damned date won't kill you." I said. Mitch rolled his eyes at the use of his full name.

"I'll tickle you." I threatened.

"Please don't. I'm not going to go on a date with you! Especially not now! We have our first Pentatonix practice in over a week today and our album comes out in less than a month!"

"But-" I started.

"Scott. I'm not in love with you, so get the fuck off my back. I'll see you at practice." He said. He was obviously agitated, but tried to hide it in his voice and closed the door extremely gently behind him.

I know I'm ridiculous. This is dumb. I actually just forced him out of his own home because I wanted him to go on a date with me, but I love him. Maybe it's just lust. I know I can't have him, which makes me want him so much more. I decided to text him.

S: I'm sorry

M: Im not mad

S: yes you are.

M: i just wanted to go out.

S: liar.

M: Are you this annoying on purpose?

*Mitch's POV*

I was broke down sobbing by the time I got to Kirstie's apartment. She had the door open and was ushering me in before I had even knocked. I sat on her couch, my face snuggled into her chest, until I was ready to talk. I sobbed through the whole story, looking into her eyes as I finished.

"Dumbass." She muttered.

"I love him." I cried.

"I know, Hun, but if your gut tells you not to, it's not a good idea." She said.

"I-it's not my gut, I-I'm scared." I whimpered, trying to stop my tears.

"Oh, Mitchie." She hugged me, running my back as I cried more.

"I want him." I said.

"He's pretty hot." I smiled when she said that, and we burst out laughing.

"I know. He's been hitting the gym more." I swiped the tears off my cheek and gave another weak smile.

"So the question, do you want to date Scott Hoying?"

"Yes. But not now."

"Do you think Scott Hoying would help you better yourself as a person, and help you further your life?"

"Yes."

"Do you think you would help Scott Hoying better himself as a person, and help him further his life?"

"Not. A. Chance."

"And now we're back where we started." She groaned.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"Why don't you think you're good for Scott?"

"He wants to settle down! Get married! Have a kid! He wants to settle down and start an adult life and I'm not ready for that! I-he was ready to marry you!" I yelled. I immediateely knew that's he was going to be upset and I bit my lip. She had every right to be.

"I'm sorry." I whispered. Until now I hadn't thought about how Scott and I's relationship might be hard for her. I let her cry, and I cried, and then we cried some more, letting all of the pent up emotions from the past weeks go.

Once neither of us had any more tears to cry, we got ready to go to practice, today we HAD to finish recording New Years Day.

Kirstie drove us. I just left my car at her house.

"Thanks for helping me." I said.

"Thanks for letting me cry." She smiled.

"What else are friends for?"
----------
"It's amazing!" Kevin cooed as we played the song back.

"That was great guys!" Scott exclaimed.

"Nice job guys." Avi agreed. We all celebrated the finished song then said our goodbyes.

"I'll meet you at home, I need to get my car." I mumbled to Scott. He nodded and started to his car. I watched him walk for a while then went to Kirstie's car.

"You going to talk to him?" She asked as I climbed in.

"I guess I have to." I said. We were silent the rest of the way back to her place. We said goodbye and I drove home with no music. The silence was oddly peaceful.

"Mitchie?" Scott called as I quietly closed the door.

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"Don't be. I was dumb to pressure you. In such a 12-year-old." He said.

"Can we talk a little bit actually?" I asked, sitting next to him on the couch.

"Always babe." He said, squeezing my hand softly.

"I love you, you know that, and maybe we should try us dating, but now just isn't the time. After the album, after the cameras stop rolling, when people stop caring, maybe we go out." I said. His eyes were bright as he listened.

I looked at the ground as he thought, waiting for what was to come. I soon felt a hand on my chin, gently tilting my head up. He leaned in slowly, allowing me time to pull away. I was frozen. No one was here, no one could see us. No one would know. Just one little kiss. I felt his lips press against mine. He kissed me softly until I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me. He opened his mouth slightly, trailing his tongue along my lower lip. I opened my mouth just enough for his tongue to slip in. His tongue was exploring my mouth as I pulled his head as close as I could get it to me. He pushed against me until I landed with my back on the couch, his soft lips never leaving mine. He broke the kiss just long enough to yank off his shirt.

I know this is a horrible stopping point but I want to put the smut in this book, so I'm going to make a special smut-only chapter to finish this one. Hoped you liked it 😘😘
