The character for Brooklyn has been changed. She will now be played by Amikka Harris
Brooklyn Mason
"Lyn Lyn wake up." I somewhat heard in my ear. I didn't move though because I was so tired. My boyfriend and I had just gotten back from L.A. because we both had gigs. Maurice was a painter and sold some of his work at an open gallery. I had a performance with my band "Function." Now we were home in New York, and today I would be shooting a video for my new mixtape "Live Cyberfunk" "baby wake up." I heard again this time he kissed my cheek causing me to smile from ear to ear. "15 minutes until meditation. I have your power punch smoothie." He said. I happily sat up. I lived for those.
Maurice and me had been together for three years. We meditated together, and we're all about peace. Each morning we waked and baked, did yoga, and meditated to focus only living mindful throughout our day. I rolled out of bed, going to do my morning hygiene. Once I got done I slipped on some sweats, and a tee shirt, grabbed my smoothie and went downstairs. Maurice was waiting for me, He had relaxing music playing, our yoga mats set up, our sage and lavender smudge stick burning along with our morning blunt. "Good Morning." He said with a huge smile on his face. "Morning love." I sang kissing his lips. I took in the scent deeply of the room and relaxed on my yoga mat next to him. He lit the blunt and passed it to me. Once we smoked, we prayed, meditated for fifteen minutes, and did our yoga. "Ready for today?" He asked As he rolled our mats. "Of course." I said.

"You were great babe." Maurice said as he embraced me in a hug. It was the last scene from my video and I was beyond tired. "Aright we gotta go home and pack." He reminded me. I groaned, we were taking a trip to Atlanta for Christmas to visit my family and I didn't wanna go. My family was beyond dysfunctional and I just knew some shit was gonna go down. I was in deep thoughts when Maurice wrapped his arms arm my waist. "Hey love you okay, what you thinking about?" "Nothing I'm good." I lied. I didn't want to go back there, to that house, seeing certain members of my family and reliving certain things. "We can leave anytime you want you know." He reminded me. This is why Maurice and I were soulmates, I never had to explain anything to him, He just knew. I gripped his hand tightly as we walked to our car, "love you." I said. "I know." He replied.Morgan Mason
"Liam, you didn't even tell me that we weren't going together, where did this trip even come from?" I asked my husband who was getting dressed from yet another business trip. He was taking those more frequently now a days. "Morgan don't start that shit, all that wining." He semi yelled. "Hurry up and pack my shit." He tied his tie around the perfectly creased dressed shirt collar. "I hate going places alone you know how my family is, they ask questions." I whined. "So what, you wanna eat. We gotta baby on the way, your family ain't helping us, and you Damn sure don't work ." "I would if you let me." I protested. He walked up on me and I tensed up. He hadn't hit me lately but this might be the day that he "forgets" that I'm with child. He looked me in the eyes "chill" he gritted through clenched teeth. "I'm sorry." I said almost crying. "Yea, you're sorry, sorry ass excuse for a wife." He grumbled. I grabbed his bags along with his,and my phone. "Morgan let's go!" He screamed. I hurried downstairs and outside to the car. I loaded his luggage and handed him his phone and waited for him to hug me or kiss me goodbye. "See Ya later." He said climbing in his car,and closing the door. He didn't even look at me. "I love you. Be safe." I said sadly.
He backed out and drove off. I walked back into the house resting on the couch when my phone started ringing. I groaned once I saw who it was. "Hey Mom." I answered. "Hey baby how are you?" "Okay, just tired." "I was calling to check on you." "I'm fine mom." She was annoying, and we didn't have the best relationship. She expected so much of me and don't think she ever let me forget where I fucked up in life. "You and Liam, all packed and ready?" She asked. "Liam is coming later mom, I'll be there in a few hours once I get dressed and everything." "He gonna let you drive alone?" "Mom". I didn't feel like doing this with her. "Just be careful Morgan." She said before hanging up.
Just what I needed for this trip. Me being pregnant, showing up to a family function with no husband. Truthfully Liam was the only thing that I have to keep me above my sister's quirky lifestyle. I'm married, I have it all figured out. Well at least that's what everyone else thinks. Honestly at any given moment my life is in shambles. I just know I'm in a love less marriage. But no one will ever know that.

"Aye babe, let me get up." I tapped Luke's thigh. I sat up in bed checking my phone. Five missed calls, all from Nicky, my girlfriend. "Shit." I mumbled. "Wifey calling." Luke said smartly. He climbed out of bed and started getting dressed. "I'm not gonna keep doing this with you bro." He whined, He was always whining. "Don't call me bro, when we just fucked." I said sternly. "Then stop fucking hiding me Byron!" He yelled. "Listen , I don't want you being mad at me." I said walking over to him and hugging him. "I'm sorry, you gotta give me some time. You the first nigga--"I'm not your Nigga, don't call me that." He retorted. "Baby, this is kind of new to me, please just...don't be mad." I gave him a soft kiss, and he smiled. "Okay. I love you Byron. Tell Brooklyn I miss her." He said grabbing his bag and leaving.
Luke was awesome. We had been doing this for a year now, and honestly I think I was in love. Nicky was cool but she didn't make me feel like Luke did, as far as she knew he was my best friend and nothing more. I dialed her number back, "hey baby girl." I spoke lowly. "Babe. I thought you were gonna be here at 8,our flight is at ten." She sounded concerned. "Sorry ma I fell asleep, but I'm up now. I'm ready and I'll be there in 35minutes." "Okay. Can't wait to see you, I missed you all day." "Missed you too girl." I lied, I really didn't miss her. I hung up the phone with her and quickly jumped in the shower. Once i got out I rushed to dress, and was out the door. When I got in the car I called my sister Brooklyn, she was the only one who knew about my lifestyle. "Sis!" "Hey Baby." She sang. She was always singing. "Don't call me that." I argued and she laughed. "Luke said hey and he misses you." "Aww I miss my boo too. He's not coming?" "No Nicky." "Byron you gotta stop this, it's your life fuck what dad thinks, or mom, shit Morgan." I loved my sister, She wanted me to walk in my truth, like she did with her music. I wish I could but I was on scholarship for sports, and I was the quarterback of the team. How would that look. "It ain't the right time sis." I sighed. She sighed. "Well I'm gonna have a conversation with Buddha, about this." She said. I laughed, she was such a weirdo, we owe that to Maurice. "Tell my bro I said what's up." "Reesie! Byron says hey." She yelled. I laughed. "Can't wait to see you sis, I just got to Nicky's so we'll see you later." "Okay love." She said hanging up.
Nicky must have been waiting and watching cause as soon as I got out the car, She was in my arms. "Baby, I'm so ready to go you would not believe the day I've had." I walked in the house grabbed her bags and tuned her out. She was still talking and I would give her basic answers. "Damn, that's crazy baby." And she would continue talking like I had any idea what the conversation was even about.
On the plane it was the same way, until she fell asleep. I was so goad then. Once we were in the air, I used my time to talk to Luke. One of these days i'm gonna tell everyone the truth.
