Byron
"Please tell me you're lying Brooke." I said. Of course she wasn't, why would she lie about that? "B, I swear I'm not lying, he lived with us for four years, remember mama made me see a therapist." She sniffed, I remembered exactly what she was talking about. I was just mad that I didn't catch it. I pulled her into a hug. "Did You tell anybody?" "Granny." She said. "And she ain't do shit?" She shook her head continuing to cry. "I'm sorry sis." I was hurt, Brooke never kept secrets like this from me. I didn't know if I was mad cause I didn't know, or that I couldn't save her from him.
"You gotta tell Maurice." I told her. "What if he hates me?" "He won't, you know he won't." She sighed as she held on to my hand. "You gonna stay with me?" "If you want me to, I will." She shook her head yes, as tears rolled down. "Okay, I'll get him." I went in the hallway, Maurice was pacing up and down the halls. He had the look of confusion plastered on his face. When I stepped into the silent halls he looked up. "Hey, did she tell you, is everything okay?" he asked. I just gave him the look. "Is it bad?" he asked. "Yea." I said, I just didn't want to lie to him. He sighed, and followed me into the room. Brooklyn was sitting on the edge of the bed. Maurice went over to her kneeling down in front of her. They looked at each other, neither one of them speaking. "Did he touch you Brooke?" She wiped her eyes harshly before shaking her head yes. "When?" he asked. "It started when I turned 13, all the way until I turned 17." "You wanna leave?" he asked and immediately I felt sad. "I don't wanna ruin our weekend." she said as she sniffled.
"You won't, if you wanna go, we can." She looked at me. I sent her a pleading sincere look. I didn't want her to leave because of him. If anything he should be the one to leave. "No. I'll stay." "You sure?" "um hum." she said. Maurice kissed her forehead. "Please don't leave me alone with him." "We won't." I spoke before Maurice could. There was a knock on the door. "Brooke its daddy." "Come in." I called to him, dad was cool, it was mom, granny, and that jerk ass of a pedophile who I had issues with. He walked in gazing around the room with a hard look. "What's wrong baby girl?" he asked. "I'm just not feeling well." she lied. He came over and touched her forehead. "Strange acting child, I guess that's why you smoke them sticks so much." he said causing us all to giggle a little. "Well, ya'll wanna come on down, we gonna trim the tree, then eat dinner." he offered.
We all followed dad down the stairs Brooke being held closely and tightly by Maurice. Uncle Bobby staring her down the entire time, the shit was bad and making me uncomfortable. "How about you sing us a song baby girl?" daddy asked Brooke. She sat behind the piano along with Maurice next to her playing along. All of us grabbed some decorations and went to work on the tree.

Brooklyn
I watched as Morgan eyed Maurice from her side of the table. She was so disrespectful, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I sighed poking at my baked chicken breast. Honestly I was in no mood to eat anything. "So Brooke, how's the music?" Bobby Lee asked. I glared at him, but not too hard so that everyone would ask questions. "Cool." "Such a pretty voice. Mama told me you were doing really good in LA." "She is." Maurice spoke up. I smiled. "And how long have you to been involved?" I sighed. "No disrespect Uncle Bobby, but that's none of your business." I was starting to get annoyed with him. "I'm just looking out for you." "She good." Maurice answered. Uncle Bobby gave him the face. "Is everything okay?" Mama asked. "It's fine." I said, mama didn't know any of this and I would hate to bring it up right now. All while we're eating dinner, it was awkward. The stares, the conversations, the silence, EVERYTHING. Maurice and I washed dishes while everyone else had conversations about past Christmases.
"Morgan, mom wants you to bring out the nog." I groaned, I knew mom told her to get it and not me. "I got it babe." Maurice said going in the fridge. "You spoil her you know." Morgan said. I sucked my teeth. "Who is he supposed to spoil, you?" I said smartly. Maurice kissed my temple before walking out the kitchen carrying the tray of things to my mother. "He's too good for you." Morgan said. I laughed. "You're jealous cause he ain't Liam. Guess what big sis, he'll never be Liam." I smirked at her. I knew that statement made her mad, but I could care less. "You know what Brooklyn. You are right, he isn't Liam." she said back to me smirking also. It was a slick smirk that signaled that she may have something up her sleeve. Maurice walked back in the kitchen, "Ouch!" Morgan screamed a little holding her side. Maurice grabbed her quickly. He was so caring, that was the only thing that would ever get him into trouble. He carefully walked her to the table. "You okay?" he asked. "It just hurts a little that's all." she whined. She was such an actress. "oh, let me get your husband." I suggested. She glared at me. "Yo! Liam!" I yelled into the living room with the others.
Maurice stepped away from her once Liam came into the kitchen. "Why you in here sitting down, what's wrong with you?" "She had some pain." Maurice told him. "Stay the hell away from my wife." he spat. I scoffed. "Nigga, he don't want your wife." I battled with him. Maurice just touched me lightly. "Come on B." he said pulling me towards the door.I couldn't stand him, he was the biggest joke my sister ever let come into her life. I shook my head as we left the kitchen and entered the living room with the rest of the family.
Morgan
"You good?" Liam asked. He was pouring a shot up at the bar and I glared at him with pleading eyes. "What you looking at? Can't a grown man have one drink." "Please don't do this hear Liam, my family is here." "Think I give a fuck about that?" he semi yelled. "Don't tell me what to do, you understand me?" He was now holding my face in his palms. "I'm sorry." I tried snatching away but his grip was tight. "You make me so mad, you know that! You're so useless!" I looked down at my swollen feet. "Get outta here, I'm tired of looking at you." he yelled. I got up and went to where everyone else was. I took a seat next to Nickki. She gave me a small smile, I didn't want to be rude so I returned one to her. She got up and walked away, but I don't know where to.
"So Morgan, are you excited about the baby?" Grandma asked. "Yea... I mean I guess." I didn't sound convincing at all, and that made mom look my way. "You okay baby?" "I'm fine mama." I said feeling the room stare at me because of my sudden outburst of attitude. "I'm so happy one of ya'll gonna give me a great grand before I leave this earth." "Really Granny." Byron spoke. "Lord knows you two not trying." She said, shaming Brooklyn and him both. Maurice laughed, the cutest chuckle. "One day Granny, we're just into a few things right now." he said. I hope he and Brooklyn never procreate, I would probably die from jealousy. They would have the most adorable kids, especially if they looked at him. "Well, I'm waiting." she said finally giving up. "Soon Granny, soon." Maurice said gripping Brooklyn tightly, she was beyond lucky and I hated her.
"I'm gonna go to bed, I'm feeling a little tired." I fake yawned. "You need anything before you go up there?" Maurice asked, and I was shocked that he was so concerned. "She needs her husband." Byron said standing from the chair he occupied. "I'll get him for you." He was on his way to the kitchen, but I just walked pass everyone anyways. "Thank you Maurice." I said smiling hugely, "but I'm fine." Brooklyn glared at me so hard, I knew she was pissed off. "Goodnight everybody." I said.
Liam
"Just tell him you wanna go for a jog or something, I got it set up for you tonight." "I'll try baby, I promise." she said kissing me. I needed her to get away from everyone especially Byron. I had this business opportunity set up and I needed her to go in here and get my money. She had been doing good so far, but this was big. This guys were willing to pay top dollar and she was my best girl at this time. "Don't let me down, I'll be waiting just text me." "Okay." she said, pecking my cheek and exiting the kitchen. I followed her, just to be met with Byron. "Hey, I was just coming to tell you that Morgan wasn't feeling to good, maybe you should go check on her." I side eyed him. The hell he think he is telling me what to do about my wife? "Yea, I got it." He looked me up and down, and I chuckled a little. If he only knew that his bitch be in my hotel room damn near every other weekend, when she not with him. This dude was clueless.

The snow continued to fall as the family sat around the fire that Bobby Lee and Maurice had built. Maurice cuddled in closely to Brook protecting her from the dangers of her uncle. All he did was stare at her hungrily. "I hope someone's getting married soon." Granny said as she watched them embrace each other smiling at them hugely. "I don't know maybe." Maurice said shyly. Brooklyn smiled at his answer and blushed lightly. "well what you waiting for, she ain't gone be with you forever. She got things to do." Bobby Lee antagonized. Brooke gave him a stale look, "Bobby Lee, stay the fuck outta my business, you don't know shit!" Her parents, and grandmother gasped in shock. Why would she ever disrespect her uncle in such a manner. He just smirked though, he knew why she had gotten so upset. "Brooklyn, don't talk to your uncle like that." her mom said in a stern voice. "Whatever." she said getting up and going upstairs to the room.
