INCOMING CALL
I slide my covers off , and reach for my phone .
" Hey Laura , we need you at the Emergency room . ASAP ! "
- beep - call ended .
I rushed into the bathroom , changed into my scrubs , and tied my hair up into a ponytail .
What could be the situation this time ? I thought to myself .
I finally arrived at the Emergency room , pushing my way through the doors to the scrub station . After I was through with putting on my gloves and surgical mask , I headed to the Surgery room .
It was like time slowed down when I saw the little girl on the table .
The long pinpoint straight black hair , grey eyes , button nose , and mysterious expression . She seemed vaguely familiar . The little girl on the swing set , looking off into the distance as if searching for something .
But , I can't keep trying to focus on the day where I know her from . It's time to focus on the one thing I came here for .
To save her .
