I stare at Makinata for a long time, attempting to process the information she just confessed to me. Maki lets go of my shoulders, and looks at the ground, her hair covering up her eyes again. It would probably be a long time until I see those beautiful eyes. At this point, I know this isn't just some joke. That's just not like Maki. She's very cold and stubborn. But I know deep down inside, she really does care. Only I know what she's really like. Everyone else is too scared of her to be able to get to know who she really is. To be honest, it's kind of sad. At least she has me, but I don't know what good that really is. All I'm saying is that at least she's not alone. And I know I will never abandon her. I wouldn't want her to go through that again.....

"Please believe me!" she pleaded, still staring at the ground. "You have to!" she looks back up. When I see her face, I take a step back, eyes wide. She was crying. "Maki-" I start, but she cuts me off. "You have a family! You have a life! I'm pretty sure what I saw wasn't fake. And if it was, it's not something worth risking." She was definitely right there. "They want me to come with you, too. As soon as you say you will go, they will take us. I don't know how, the angel just said they would take care of it." I consider this for a little while. "Do we have a deadline?" I ask. "Oh yes, I was just getting to that," she starts, wiping away her tears,"your deadline is tonight."

Maki grasps onto my hand and stares into the night sky. "You need to make a decision." We are in my neighborhood park. Since it was a Friday, I told my mom I was spending the night at Maki's. I even packed a bag. The bag is next to me in the playground mulch. I glance at Maki. What will happen once the angels take us? What is their motive? I sigh deeply and close my eyes. "Yes," I announce into the night,"I accept your offer." The next thing I see is a bright light headed straight towards us. "Look out!" Maki had shouted. That is all I remember.
