"Maki? Maki! MAKI!" I shout. I don't know where I am. I can't move my arms or legs. There is an intense pain in my stomach. All I can see is white. Whiteness everywhere. It was like I was levitating on thin air alone. I look down at my stomach. I was wearing the same clothes I wore to meet Makinata at the park: skinny jeans, a gray sweatshirt, white converse. My white hair was piled on top of my head and my two blue and pink strands of hair were hanging down from the bun. Yes, I do have two strands of hair that are different from the rest: one is electric pink and the other is bright blue. I was born this way. But, straight through my stomach was a big bloody wound. I look again. No wait. I-it's tire marks.

In the distance, there is clapping. Slow, drawn out clapping. Clap, Clap Clap. "Congratulations!" A voice cooes,"you figured it out! How smart! Don't worry about your other friend. She is just fine. You were run over by a car, as you have already figured out. It was how We got you up Here. How else did you think you could arrive at such a place? Eh, it's not your mother's fault for giving you up to some lousy humans. She was the one who hooked up with that mongrel to begin with." The voice snickered. "What the hell are you talking about you bastard? I just got here. Could you maybe try explaining a bit more about where I am?" I inquire, grimacing at the sharp pain in my stomach. "Hehehe! That's a secret! I'll wait for Her to tell you." "For who to tell me?" I shout, but receive no response. Damn whoever that was. And what were they saying about my mother? Something about her giving me up? I'm pretty sure my mother never gave me up. She loves me and wants the best for me. We have lived in the same house all our life. Unless-

"Gunna!" Footsteps echo in the distance. "Kowagatte Gunna!" "Makinata Hisari!" I shout, blindly flailing my arms around. The footsteps end, and someone clutches to my hand. My hand is pressed to their face. I can feel wet tear drops from them pour down my hand. "Maki." I whisper. "Kowagatte, can you see me?" I can almost feel her pleading eyes on my face. "No, Maki, I'm sorry. I can't see anything. I could only see my stomach earlier. And there was whiteness everywhere. Where am I? I can barely even feel your hand." She sniffs. I hear her take a step closer. "C-can you feel this?" she asks sweetly. I sense her bend down. I can feel her nose inches away from mine. Before I know it, she presses her soft lips against mine. When she releases, I softly whisper,"Maki, Makinata. This is so unlike you. Is everything-" she cuts me off,"everything is not okay. And it never will be. I will explain." She sits on my bed, and I prepare to hear what she has to say.
