Chapter 4 - The Cold Truth And Unknown Allies

*Rainbow Dash's P.O.V.* "i suppose it's time i told you the truth fluttershy" we had returned to our home, i hung my uniform up in the closet and had showered before we got to this very point.

shy was full of a mix of feeling, first she was worried, then she was happy, now she's furious, it's probably the most i've seen her change emotion in a small amount of time.

"Rainbow Danger Dash, You had better start explaining everything right now" she said as we sat in our living room, the usually quiet home was now filled with shy's booming voice, who would've guessed right?

"shy, please calm down, i'll explain everything i can, just relax and breathe" i tried my best to calm her, but nothing much helped, so i started from the beginning, and i told her exactly what happened and how it happened.

"ok, so it started with me waking up, the day was beautiful so why not go for a fly, then i stopped by your cottage and said hi and stuff and i went home got attacked and you showed up..." it felt like i was explaining my entire life story to her, right then and there it felt like i was telling her everything that seemed like a fairy tale.

after a few hours of getting to Fero i paused to catch my breath, and from the look on shy's face, she was either awestruck or in disbelief in this tale that i told her, only problem was that it wasn't a tale, and alucard confirmed that suspicion.

"alright, now where was i?" shy spoke up to help me remember where i left off "i believe you were saying about this fero person, and your attack on his base of operations?" i had continued the tale for a while longer.

i had just gotten to our wedding day when a sharp knock came to the door "could you get the door fluttershy?, i'm actually getting a call from vinyl right now" i got up and walked away from the door and as the front door opened i heard fluttershy gasp.

"um, Rainbow, it's for you" the tone inn her voice was that of awestruck and wonder "hey, i gotta go vinyl, i'll call you right back" i hung up the phone and walked to the front door but dropped the phone when i saw the person standing there in the doorway.

"D...D....D" the person interrupted me "Hey Rainbow, long time no see" a grey and black lock of hair fell in front of her eyes and i smiled bigger than i have in a long time "Daring Do."

the room fell into an awkward silence until the adventurer spoke up "may i come in?" she smirked and i nodded, i was truly at a loss for words as she walked in and took her pith helmet off and set it on our hat rack.

"so, decided to take the easy life over the adventurers lifestyle, huh dash?" her voice as raspy as mine, you might mistake her for my sister if we didn't live entirely different lifestyles, she was an adventurer, always looking for adventure, and i was now merely rainbow dash, fastest flier in equestria, and element of loyalty.

i had to keep some cool, cause right now the room was in drop dead silence, so quiet you could hear a pin drop, so i spoke up "So Daring, what exactly brings you to our home?" i wrapped my arm over shy's shoulder and smiled.

"well, i was just about to head home from my latest adventure in the town of marapore when i decided to stop by, seeing as how everyone can seem to find my home, i figured finding someones home must be easy, so i dropped by" she had a soft twitch in her eye, if i wasn't so perceptive i would have missed it.

"daring, are you lying?" i asked bluntly, seeing as this was my idol it hurt me to say that aloud, but it needed to be said, and i wasn't wrong, because her cheeks began to turn the softest shade of red.

"daring, what's going on?" shy asked and daring lookead around the room a few times and whispered "the house has no surveillance, right?" we both nodded in unison and daring sighed "alright, yes i'm lying, but only because i'm trying to keep from the changeling queen and her followers."

me and shy both looked at each other and back at daring "i was looking for somewhere near friends i could hide, maybe even live with, because i know my home isn't safe anymore with her soldiers hunting down the best adventurers in equestria, and i'm not someone who wants to be at the mercy of a vengeful king and a power hungry queen."

i looked at shy, she could see both the worry and joy in my eyes and smirked with a slight nod, and i turned my head back to daring "of course you can stay with us, we'll set up the  guest room for you." daring began to smile, but a look of worry intruded her happiness "i don't wish to impose on you two if this might be too much trouble to take me in though."

me and shy both smiled "daring, we'd be happy to have you in our home, it's what friends do, we protect each other, no matter the cost."

we got right to work in setting up the spare room and after it was done we decided daring would need a way to hide herself in the public eye, so i lent her some of my clothing, strange how she fit my size almost to perfection, but she looked like a normal person, and i was glad we could be helpful to her, then again, we also needed her help in this fight, hell, we needed all the help we could get.

i don't have much to say this go around tonight, other than happy thanksgiving, hope your holidays are/were amazing and ill see you next chapter, which ill be putting up here in a little bit anyways, maybe i'll have something to say
