Part Two: Gonna

Hadley

"What are we gonna do?!" I ask.

"Hey, Rick and Glenn are gonna lead the walkers away, Hun." Jacqui soothes. I like her.

I nod.

I hear a clap of thunder, then it starts sprinkling.

"Shit." Cali mutters.

"Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no!" I say.

Cali rushes over to me,"Hey, its okay, look, they made it over the fence."

I look over the edge to see them drive off in a moving van.

"The hell are they doing?!" Martin ask angryly behind me.

"What are they doing?" I ask as a car alarm goes off.

Cali grabs a pair of binoculars from Glenn,"They.. They're luring away walkers  with the alarm."

"As it appears so." Martin mumbles.

The truck comes back into view, but Rick seems to be backing into the loading docks. We all rush down there after grabbing our stuff.

Rick greets us on the bottom floor,"T-Dog, take this key and get Merle. Everyone else, get in the truck."

We all follow his orders.After two minutes T comes back down.

"Where Merle?" Martin ask.

T shakes his head before getting in."I dropped the damn key. "He mumbles.

"Oh well! He was an obvious ass hat! Would anyone at your group camp thingy even miss him?" Cali burst out.

"Yeah, his brother." Morales answers.

Must've been a horrid accident their parents made two. I think. We get going on the highway when a car alarm sounds. I look out the window to see Glenn driving down the road past us in a dodge charger.

"At least someone's having fun." Andrea mutters.

We soon arrive at their camp. Cali gets out with everyone else while I stay in the van with Rick.

"You leaving here?" I ask.

He shakes his head,"I don't know. If I don't know anyone here, then I'm out."

I nod, but don't reply. Someone calls Rick out of the van. He gets out and I look through the windshield to see him hugging a little boy and an older woman. I decide to get out so I climb over the front seat and hop out.

Cali is talking to Martin and a girl that looks similar to Andrea. Glenn is talking to a hook-nosed guy, and Jacqui is talking to a feeble looking woman. I decide to walk around a bit since there's no one I can talk to. I see that lake and walk down to it. I slide a bit, considering the loose gravel, but make it down none the less.

I sit by the shore and watch the water surface, loosing myself in my thoughts. Am I gonna fit in? Will they like me? Is this group going to be my death? These questions cloud my mind.

I'm startled by a hand being placed on my shoulder. I flinch and look up, only to see the woman Rick was hugging.

"Oh, I didn't mean to startle you. My name's Lori. I'm Rick's wife." She says.

"Oh, no, its okay. I'm Hadley." I reply.

"You might wanna talk to Shane about what you'll be doing. For us women, we have the choice of cooking or washing clothes. I hope you pick cooking because I'm all by my self and occasionally have the help of Carol." She says before walking off.

Maybe this group will like me. Just maybe....
