It's so quiet... Too quiet. Even music from the radio can't fill the silence. Though Lapis' house is usually quiet anyway, it just has an aura of sadness, isolation. It wouldn't be nearly as dreary if Peridot was here... Even if Peridot wasn't in the house, the house would still be warm and welcoming, birds chirping outside and whatnot. But now... Nothing like that.

Lapis closes the front door behind her, turning to look at her small, yet roomy and cozy house. Peridot would come over most days of the week, and the other days, Lapis would go to Peridot's own house. Seeing each other was a must. It still is...

It's only been two days, but it feels like forever. What if something happened to her...?! God, what would I do?! Lapis squeezes her hands into fists and takes a deep breath. No, stop, she's fine... She's gotta be...

Lapis walks down the hallway, but slows down as she raises her eyes to look at the many pictures of herself and Peridot. Some pictures even range back to when they were much younger. They've known each other for such a long, long time...

Lapis closes her eyes, reminding herself of all the fun and amazing times she has had with her amazing girlfriend. Never once had the thought of being separated for any reason come into her head, but it happened. War had to come in and ruin everything...

Lapis walks into her bedroom, seeing the bed made on only one side where Peridot would always sleep when she came over. Slowly, Lapis walks to the bed and sits on Peridot's side, taking the pillow into her arms and holding it close to her, pressing her face into it. Her closed eyes water greatly, the pillow even smelling like Peridot. "I miss you..." Lapis whispers, her voice muffled. She slowly puts down the pillow and opens her eyes, staring at the wall for a moment.

She can't let this bog down her entire life... But then again, Peridot was her entire life.

Lapis sighs and sniffs, wiping her eyes quickly as she stands up, "Stop acting like this...! It's only been two days!" She scolds herself, walking into the kitchen. But she doesn't even make it to the fridge before she collapses to her knees, her face in her hands, seeming to have forgotten what she just said.

Tears now fall down her face freely as she lets out heartbreaking sobs, backing up against the corner of the kitchen. Lapis brings her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs and dropping her forehead to her knees. Her tears drip onto the floor, and they're audible.

After all, the house is quiet... Too quiet.
