"Can I just see him? Please, Blade, he's probably so scared!" I pleaded, leaning against the wall, holding my stomach.
He glared at my hand before looking away and sighing, "Fine, I'll let you see him, but not for long."
I smiled to myself but it was cut short when he spoke again, "And don't think about calling anyone your phones been destroyed."
Our last chance at freedom was gone just like that.
I let him take me there but it took a while with my slow waddling. The room he was stashed in was pastel blue with a red race car bed and fuzzy white carpet. Their was toys spilling out of boxes and the closet. It was a child's paradise and Prince was in the corner clutching the toy soldier I had given him.
One he saw me, he ran towards me but Blade picked him up before reaching me. "No need to be scared, nothing will happen to you as long as you follow the rules."
Prince looked as though he was going to cry but he never let one slide down his cheeks and gave Blade a small nod. "Good boy." He set him back down and Prince was soon in my arms, hiding his face in my neck.
Blade walked around me, make his way out, "I have a few meetings, don't do anything you'll regret." With that he slammed the door and was gone.
Prince started to sob uncontrollably, wishing for his mother and father and the only thing I could do for the moment was hold him. After he calmed down I went to the door, finding it unlocked.
Blade never said we couldn't leave.
With that thought I was carrying Prince through dimly lighted hallways. Using the windows, I was able to tell that it was an abandoned warehouse or at least from the outside that's how it looked. I was on the second floor and I could see the front doors, just east from where I was. I smirked, starting in the direction.
After making it to the first floor, I set Prince down, holding his hand as I figured our way out.
A sharp gasp of pain left my lips as a sharp twist like a knife was digging in my stomach shot through me. My contractions were starting but they must've been a false alarm, this was no place to go into labor. I closed my eyes and leaned against the wall for a minute while Prince watched nervously, "Aunty Blossy, are you okay?"
I took a few deep breathes before giving him a small one, "I'm fine sweetheart, just resting. Come on, let's keep moving."
I decided to ditch the escape plan for the time being. A pregnant women with contractions and a little boy, both with no powers was no match for Blade and his people.
We ended up in a cafeteria, there was a guy sitting in the corner, writing something down furiously. Ben or should I say Kevin. The double crosser was too enraptured in his writing he didn't notice us approach him. I kept Prince behind me and glared daggers at him as he jumped, finally noticing us.
"Oh, Blossom! It's about time, I was starting to worry, look we need to get you both out of here."
Confusion filled me, "What are you talking about, I thought you worked for Blade? Why would you want to help us?"
"Yeah, double cross Brick? Fat chance and real names John, sorry for all this secrecy and confusion but I'm really here to help."
Another sharp pain shot through my stomach and I hissed, grabbing onto the table. "Oh no, you've started your contractions haven't you?"
"I'm fine, and I don't trust you but your all we've got at the moment. So tell us what you need us to do."
He gave me a weary look before sighing, "We've already took out security, all that's left is the people that are in the meetings with Blade and Blade himself. The Calvary are on there way already, we just have to get you guys to the roof. And in your current state, " he glanced at my stomach, "this will be difficult."
I couldn't deny he was right but if this was our only chance, we had to do it. I nodded and glanced at Prince, he just gave me a reassuring smile before clutching his army man.
The three of us made our way to an elevator and took it to the top floor and making our way to the door to the roof. The whole thing took longer than expected with all my pauses from my contraction pains. I glared at the stairs, this was the only way to the roof, and I didn't know if I could do this. Prince went first while John wrapped his arm around my waist and I wrapped my arm around his shoulders and he helped me up the stairs. It took ten minutes for us to make it up the short flight of stairs and I was drenched in sweat and shaking from the pain. If I let go of John, I'd collapse for sure. Once outside he let me rest against a giant air vent. Something felt wrong, wrong inside of me and I didn't know if it was my baby or Blade, but I couldn't stop shaking.
"We just have to wait a few more minutes and-" A loud popping noise filled the air and John fell to the floor, splattering Prince and myself in his blood. Blade was standing a few feat away, his fingers in a gun shape.
"Darn, I was starting to like him." Was all he said as he began to walk over to us. "Well shit little man, aren't you a brave one." He exclaimed and I glanced down a Prince who was glaring at Blade ignoring the dead man at his feet and blood covering him. My heart broke in that moment and I finally collapsed under my wobbly knees. Blade caught my shoulder keeping my stomach from hitting the ground.
He smirked, "You don't seem so hot Blossom, everything okay?" I ignored him while my body shook uncontrollably. He glared at me before shifting his attention to Prince, "What about you," his arms moved picking up a rigid Prince, "A doll? No you don't need this trash." He went to rip the toy from Prince's clutches, they both ended up breaking the toy. An arm in Prince's hand and the rest in Blades. He melted the doll in his hand while Prince watched with tears in his eyes before something in them snapped. He glared as tears raced down his cheeks and he swung the arm into Blades eye, Blade howled dropping Prince against the cement and went to rip the toy arm out his eye. Prince began to sob horribly, looking at his tiny hands in horror. I wanted to hold him but liquid raced down my legs and I reached down touching it before looking at my hand, it was red, I was bleeding..
I began to hyperventilate as Blade began screaming and grabbed Prince. A ball of dark light filled the area and Prince screamed before falling against the ground unresponsive. I stared in horror in shock as Blade breathed heavily and turned to me. Then five lights encircled us, my family was finally here but they were late, too late...
