Metal Gear Solid: Venom Rising

When Dreams Go To Far, Mother Base, September 17th 1986

Snake awoke from his nigtmare gasping for air as if his nightmare had been real. The sun shone through the slits in the armor-plated windows in his quarters at Mother Base. Snake got dressed in his standard jungle combat uniform and tied the laces on his boots. After this Snake clipped on his Walkman to his belt and picked up his Custom Colt M1911A1 Pistol customly modified just for Snake by a man that Snake didn't know, all he knew was that the man had customized the Colt 1911A1 somewhere in China, the Colt had been a present from Eva during Operation Snake Eater.

Snake opened his quarters door and stepped out shuting it behind him. Instead of walking down the stairs, Snake decided to walk along to the right towards the Staff Platform's Shooting Range. Snake walked towards the table and saw the register which kept track on who entered the range every day. Snake signed his name down as 'The Boss' and walked to range 1.

Range 1 wasn't busy only one other Mother Base soldier shooting his little Makarov PM pistol. Snake felt weird shooting this beast of a gun next to the tiny Makarov but anyway Snake pushed the red button sending the paper target back 25 meters it suddenly stopped Snake knew that this was stopped postion for the target.
Snake squeezed the trigger after aiming at the target the bullet sped out of the barrel at lighting speed and hit the target dead center of the head, a perfect shot. The Mother Base soldier walked towards Snake with a expression of "Wow" the soldier was right next to Snake. The soldiers breath felt heavy on Snakes neck this made Snake instinctively stand back. The soldier suddenly started having a spasm and fell to the floor. Snake shouted "MEDIC!". The medical team rushed in through the door with the equipment to save the soliders life.

The medics dropped to the floor and riped open a fresh shot of adrenaline and inject the fluid into the soldiers arm suddenly the spasm stopped and the solider fell unconscious. The lead medic told Snake that the spasm had been caused by either stress or a drug addiction. Snake sighed and left Range 1 and thought finding Miller and telling him about this incident.

Rain started falling creating massive puddles around Mother Base. Guards rushed passed Snake, Snake turned around and run after the soldiers. Suddenly, the soldiers stopped and joined a massive circle of other Mother Base soldiers. The first thought that crossed Snakes mind was FIGHT.

Two soldiers were fighting with their bare hands this suprized Snake, he thought the soldiers would be fighting with knifes. It seemed the fight had lasted all ready about 5 minutes. Suddenly, one of the soldiers Raging Warthog pulled out a Marakov and shot the other one straight in chest. The shot soldier fell fowards on his face landing with a thudd! Snake pulled out his pistol and fired a round in the air. The soldiers spun around and fell silent.

"Right, everyone what's going on here!" yelled Snake. The guards had suddenly stood back trying to get away from Snake. Then,suddenly one guard stepped forward and with a very quiet voice and said "Www well first Sleeping Rhino was arguing with Raging Warthog about who had the best fighting skills and then suddenly they both started fighting and then it escalated to them fighting with knifes." His voice cut off like a cassette ending on Snake's Walkman.

After,dealing with the fight, Snake continued walking around Mother Base. 30 minutes after the fight, Ocelot ran up to Snake holding a brown A4 envelope with a red Diamond Dogs seal. Without saying any words Ocelot handed Snake the brown envelope.

It read:
SNAKE A NEW MISSION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO US BY A NEW NGO (non-governmental organisation) THE MISSION IS THAT MANY LOCAL PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS IN KAZAKHSTAN HAVE REPORTED TO HAVE SEEN THE INFAMOUS ASSASSIN KNOWN AS 'QUIET' WE HAVE GIVEN YOU THIS MISSION BECAUSE OF YOUR PERSONAL CONNECTION TO 'QUIET' YOU WILL LEAVE FOR KAZAKHSTAN AT 6:00 AM ON SEPTEMBER 18th 1986, GOOD LUCK SNAKE.

Snake looked at Ocelot and said angrily "Why the hell am I do this Ocelot!" Ocelot walked away when he was about 10 meters away from Snake he shouted "Good luck, Boss." Snake turned away, sighed, and walked towards the armoury to prepare for the next mission in Kazakhstan.

After a moderately long walk across Mother Base, Snake finally arrived at the armoury. As Snake showed his identification and the metal door buzzed for 5 seconds then swung open. Snake walked through the door and headed for the Assault Rifles section of the armoury. Snake inspected the rifles and finally found a suppressed black Steyr AUG with a telescopic sight attached. After that Snake picked up 5.56x45mm NATO 30 round magazines for the AUG. Snake already had a handgun but he needed to get some more 7 round .45 ACP magazines. Snake only needed some Explosives, he found some C4 plastic explosives.

After Snake left the armoury he looked at his watch the digital read out telling that the time was 22:23. Snake headed off towards his room to go to sleep. When he got to his room he undressed and changed into his pyjamas and got into his bed.
