"C'mooooon Chloe, please?" Niall begs as he follows you around in the hallway. You sigh as you turn to look at him. His blue eyes were wide, silently begging you behind his big, black-framed glasses.

"Are you sure about this, Ni?" You ask him. Niall was your best friend, had been since the second grade, and a couple years ago, during tenth grade, you'd found out that he had a crush on you. You'd confronted him about it on the last day on tenth grade, but instead of acting embarrassed that you knew about it...he's been trying to ask you on a date ever since.

You were now three weeks into your eleventh year and finally, you'd had enough. You'd never asked him about WHY he liked you, but you were finally confronting him about it.

"I'm very sure. One hundred percent," Niall says.

"But why Niall? Why do you like me?" You ask. You don't understand what made him like you versus all of the other girls in school.

"Just...let me show you, okay? Go on a date with me on Saturday, seven pm. I'll prove to you how much I like you." Niall insists, pushing his glasses up on his nose.

Finally, you sigh, giving in. "Okay, fine. What should I wear?"

"Yes!" Niall cheers, catching the attention of some of the people in the hallway. "Wear something nice, but casual," he smiles, "you won't regret this, I promise!"

*~Saturday~*

It was currently five thirty on Saturday evening and you sigh, realizing that Niall will be here soon. You get up from your bed and go over to the closet, deciding on what to wear. Eventually, you settle on a black blouse and some nice jeans, with black boots to match. After doing your makeup, you curl your hair before finally deciding that you're ready.

You walk down the stairs, waiting by the front door. Luckily, your parents were out for the evening and you didn't have to go through your father's embarrassing speech about "protecting his daughter," which you hear practically every time you go out on a date with a boy.

At exactly 6:58 p.m., the doorbell rings. You open the door, expecting to see Niall smiling geekily at you. What you see instead makes you gasp.

Niall is standing in front of you, wearing skinny jeans and a The Fray band t-shirt. He's not wearing his glasses and his dyed blond hair, which is usually kept messy, is done up in a neat whiff. You grin at him.

"Wow Niall, I didn't know you could clean up so good," you tease. He smiles, revealing his braces.

"Told you I could impress you," Niall winks. "C'mon."

He reaches for your hand and you take it without hesitating. He smiles at you again, before leading you to his car. "The drive won't be long," he promises.

He's right. The drive only takes about ten minutes and the two of you get out of the car.

"Oakland Park?" You ask, reading a nearby sign.

"Yup. C'mon, we're not there yet," Niall winks at you, taking your hand again as he leads you down a trail. He wraps an arm around your waist and, instead of protesting, you lean into his touch.

The end of the trail leads to a small pond. The sky is just starting to darken and you can see stars in the sky, twinkling over the water. You gasp.

"Niall, it's beautiful." you whisper. "How did you find this place?"

"I remembered stumbling upon the trail when I was playing hide and seek with my brother a few years ago." he admits, blushing. "I thought you'd like it."

"I love it," you breathe as you look around again.

"Would you care to watch the stars with me?" He asks, looking at you.

"Of course," you smile at him.

The two of you lay on the soft grass. You lay your head on Niall's chest, not even caring about messing up your styled hair, and he wraps an arm around you as you two look at the sky in silence for several minutes.

"Look! A shooting star!" You point to the sky.

"Make a wish," Niall whispers.

A moment goes by before you look at him. "Did you wish for something?" You ask, closing your eyes.

"Mhm, I did."

"What'd you wish for?"

"I wished for you to be my girlfriend."

You smile and open your eyes as you look at Niall again. "Well, looks like your wish just came true."
