As I stepped foot into the nearly trashed house, my lungs instantly filled with clouds of smoke. I aimlessly wandered around a bit first, trying to find the keg, but my hip bumped into something , or rather, someone.

"Hey watch-Oh sorry," the guy said.

"No, it's my fault. Sorry," I said backing away. He just watched me leave with alarmed eyes. Okay, I thought, that was weird.

A couple hours passed and I felt a little better, not as tense. I decided I'd go dance for a while before I left. As I went out on the dance floor, I felt a pair of eyes on me but I just shrugged it off.

Suddenly, I felt a rough pair of hands on my hips.

"Uh, who are you," I began to turn around.

"We can exchange names later," he said, as he began dancing with me. I tried escaping his grip but his hands were deadlocked on me.
"Sorry," he whispered into my ear,"Not until I get my way."
He started bringing his hands further up my waist. I turned to slap him when he was suddenly yanked off of me.

"Touch her like that again and I'll kick your ass!" It was the guy from earlier. The creepy guy ran away in, i hope, terror, leaving me with the mystery man.

He walked over to me and said," I guess I should introduce myself now," he began, "I'm Ethan."

"Sarah," I stated plainly. "Thanks," I managed, avoiding his eyes.

"No problem. Are you okay? Did you come alone?" he asked

"I'm...great. Yeah i usually do." He just nodded. "Well, I'll just be one way now."

"Okay ye-wait. You're driving home?"

"No, I walked here. I don't live very far."

"Let me just take you home. I haven't been drinking so it's okay."

"But I hardly know you."

"So? I hardly know you but I'm offering you a ride," he argued, with a huge grin on his face.

"Fair enough."

"Alright. Where do you live," he asked as we walked out of the house.

"On 31st. Like, 10 minutes away."

Oh no way, you live pretty close to me then. Hey, do you by any chance go to Rosewood?" he asked.

"Yup. Don't worry, I wouldn't be offended if you said you've never seen me before because I've never seen you before in my life."

"Oh, I see," he said, laughing.

Finally, we got to my house.

" Well, this is it. Mi casa. Thanks for the ride by the way," I said stepping out.

"Any time," he said smiling. " See you around Sarah."

That night, I stayed up thinking about what tomorrow might bring for the girl with a battered mind and the boy with a golden heart.
