I started panicking. I remembered that I left them on the table. Ugh. I'm so mad at myself. Great, it's the first day of school and something already bad happened. So, as I walked, I played music softly. 'Bail Me Out' by All Time Low ft. Joel Madden. As I walked closer to the bus stop, I lowered the volume and eventually turned the music off. The bus came shortly and there were only a couple empty seats when I got on. I took one of them. Some people looked familiar from last year, but I never really talked to anyone. I was quiet and I didn't talk much anyways. I didn't know what to do. Nothing at all. I stared out the window, not trying to look dramatic or anything, but I still probably looked like an idiot. Oh well. I saw another group of teens waiting. I guess there's another stop. The bus slowed down and then stopped to pick them up. Four extra people were then on the bus. I didn't know if the last couple seats would fit all of them. All four of them were tall, and I didn't know if they were related or not. A girl was first, and then three boys followed behind her. They filled the seats and after that one of them sat next to me. He politely smiled. He was cute. He wore a Nirvana shirt, black skinny jeans, and a pair of black vans. He had nice blue eyes, but most of all a great smile. He seemed quite in a good mood, but I'm not exactly sure. He had his phone out and earbuds in.
"Hey, what song are you listening to?" I nervously asked.
"Look down."
Blink? He was listening to Blink-182? My shirt had their logo on it, so Is that what he was talking about?
Oh, you're listening to Blink?" I said smiling.
"Yeah, 'I'm Lost Without You'." He said.
"Hey, one of my favorites, though I actually can't easily chose one."
"Same" he chuckled.
"What other bands do you listen to?" I asked.
"Oh, there's a lot, okay, let's see-" we both giggled.
"Okay, um, Green Day, Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Sleeping with the Sirens, Mayday Parade, Busted, Mcfly, the Rolling Stones, the Ramones, AC/DC, and I can't forget about Nirvana." He said pointing at his shirt, which I have one that looks exactly the same.
"There are still more, but how about you?" he asked.
"Pretty much all the ones you said, but also A Day to Remember, Iron Maiden, We the Kings, Bring My the Horizon, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and the 1975 for me."
"How would I have forgotten those."
"It's cool to know someone's who's also into music."
"Yeah, I guess I was lucky to find someone like you." He said.
"I'm Bri by the way, or Nelle, either one, my full name is Brinelle Mason, soooo yeah. It's my first day of sophomore year."
"Me too, and I'm Luke," he paused,
"Hemmings."
I smiled, then turned away to face the window.
"Do you wanna listen?" I heard him ask.
I turned back around to face him. "Sure." I said.
He handed me the left ear and I suddenly heard the second course of 'I'm Lost Without You'
I smiled over to him.
"Thanks," I said.
"You're welcome." He said.
"So, uh, wait you said it was also your first day of sophomore year, right?" I said.
"Yeah"
"Well, do you wanna compare schedules?"
"Yeah," he got out the piece of paper and we held them side by side. After looking back and forth from both papers, we found out that we have the same homeroom together, which is English, and also calculus, and lunch. I told him that I was glad to be in some of his classes. And that I was also glad that I wouldn't be alone the whole day, just like I thought I'd be.
