My books had fallen on the floor. The boy who I bumped into had nice brown eyes and was nicely tanned. He had a very genuine smile.
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry." He said, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I'm fine, it was my fault. Sorry." I said.
He politely picked up my books as I tied my shoe. I stood back up. He smiled and handed me my books.
"Sorry, about my stupid untied shoes."
"No, don't worry about it. I should've been more careful."
"Well, thanks."
"No problem, hope to see you around."
"Okay, bye."
He waved back. I was so awkward. Who ends a conversation with "Okay, bye?" Anyways, I tried to see if Luke was at his locker. He wasn't there, so I just went to class. I actually found the classroom by myself. When I walked in, it was pretty quiet. I took my seat, and I patiently waited for Luke. When he walked in, all I could hope was that Luke was on his way to the seat next to mine. I was sitting in the back of the classroom. He placed his books on the desk beside mine. He turned to face me.
"So," he said.
"So," I said awkwardly.
"How's your day been so far?"
"Yeah, pretty good. How about you?"
"Yeah, good so far."
We both stopped talking for a little bit.
"I want to learn more about you Brinelle." He said breaking the silence.
"Well, what do you want to know?"
"Anything."
"Okay, ask me questions."
"Um, can you play any instruments?"
"Well, I can play guitar, and drum, -ish."
"Guitar, one of my favorites, what about singing?"
"Yeah, along with playing the guitar. I haven't done it in front of anyone before."
"I bet you're good."
"Yeah, I'm not sure about that. Do you sing?"
"Yeah, I love it."
"Well, I guess we both have a similar passion for music."
"I'm glad we do." He said.
"Let's get more personal, um, what about family? Do you have any siblings?"
"Yep, two older brothers, Ben & Jack. You?"
"Only a younger brother, Jack too."
"Whoa, okay, favorite and least favorite subjects?"
"My favorite is music, obviously, and my least or worst, is math." I responded.
"My favorite is also music, but I actually enjoy math. Least is history."
"Well, I'm glad we're in the same calculus class."
The teacher walked in and the bell rang. Luke and I looked and smiled at each other, then faced the front of the class. I took a piece of paper out and wrote 'Good talk, hope to have one again ♥'
I secretly handed it to him. I looked to the front of the classroom to make it seem like I was paying close attention. Really, I was thinking about Luke. I felt a light nudge on my arm.
