That night there was only one thing on my mind.

Jonah.

He saved my life today and I had a strange feeling about the boy. He seemed to calm me down and heat me up in the best and worst ways.

He knew I was a sophomore even though we have never spoken before and I got sudden headache right before he found out information about me?

It was all too fishy.

"Are you alright dear?" Minnie asks me. Minnie is my moms maid and my main care-giver even though I still refer to my mom as...well mom. Even though she's not my real birth mom.

"Fine." I answer too quickly and I poke my salad with my fork. My stomach hasn't been hungry all day. "Just tired...there was a wreck today at school."

Minnie looks up from scrubbing the dishes and her mouth drops a little. "Really? Is everyone okay?"

"Yes. I almost got hit," I add quietly. She looks at me and walks over to me, a worried look plastered to her face. "Good thing Jonah was there to save me."

"Jonah?" She asks as she wiggles her eyebrows. "Who is this Jonah?"

"A boy...we've never talked but he seems...okay." I say. She frowns a little and returns to her dishes. "He's kind of a bad boy."

"Bad boy's may seem alluring but they are nothing but trouble. Watch out Nessie." She warns. I nod and continue to force feed myself.

"Can we please talk?" Charlie asks for about the third time in the past minute. I continue to ignore him as I look for my biology textbook. I dig through my organized locker but it's gone.

Lovely. Mr. Mends is going to destroy me.

"Nessie." He says and I slam my locker and look at him.

"You got my name right." I say through gritted teeth. He gives me a weak smile and I start to walk away when he pulls me back by my wrist. "Let go!"

"I'm sorry," he says as he drops my wrist. The first bell rings and the kids around us start to head to class. "Give me another shot...you seem much more interesting that Misty."

"I'm not as pretty as her." I mumble, barely audible to anyone. Charlie perks up and looks at me...he didn't hear me. "Forget it Charlie."

"Think about it?" He asks hopefully as second bell rings. I nod a little. "Thank you Ness."

I turn on my heels and start to walk to biology.

When I open the door, everyone turns to look at me. I feel my cheeks turn a light pink in embarrassment.

"Ms. Jones," Mr. Mends starts with a sigh. "late. Take a seat next to Jonah."

I feel my stomach flop at the sound of his name and I look around the room until my eyes land on Jonah. He has his large, black biker boots on the table and his hands behind his head as he leans casually in his seat. I gulp and slide into the seat next to him.

The teacher starts to drown I and I sneak a glance at Jonah.

"Where did you disappear to yesterday?" I ask casually. He refuses to look at me. I sigh and look ahead once more. "Silent treatment eh?"

"No, that's for four year olds." He whispers back. "I'm simply just not in the mood for answering that."

"Oh?" I look at him and he looks back. "When will you be in the mood?"
