My voice got chocked before I could even utter a single word. I was totally horrified and nauseated! My eyes were focused on the flat screen television where I saw another "blondie" (whats with the blondies today!)reading out the BREAKING NEWS.

"Good afternoon. This is Rose Winkers from BVC. A very unexpected incident happened today which had left millions of people in shock and trauma. The
British Airways666 which took off from London at GMT 12:00hours received a massive crash on its way to Paris in a small city named 'Portsmouth' as it hit a cloud......" that was all I heard before I think I passed out.Or maybe not? The next thing I know was that I had been staring at the flat screen for such a long time even people started thinking that I was suffering nervous-breakdown or something. They were literally gaping at me (not that I blame them anyway) but decided to 'mind their own business' once they realised they don't bother me/they would probably loose 'The staring Contest'!

Anyways after what seemed to be like almost an hour(or was it a minute?) "Blondie" finally decided to take a break and the hole airport became silent. Was everyone thinking what I think they were thinking? No no..can't be. They were probably feeling sorry for so many passengers who lost their lives whereas I was thinking how lucky I was to be thrown out of that plane which I was cursing few minutes ago. Really? Did God finally decide to send one of his angels to London to save me? Was it destiny? Or was I being paranoid and thinking too much of useless shit?Just for a fraction-of-a-second the image of the "plane-guy" flashed in my mind! I don't know why but a part of me felt a pang of guilt as reality sunk in. HE IS DEAD!
I still couldn't believe my eyes nor my ears.
Did this really happen?

Suddenly I felt a hand grip my right arm, trying to shove me away from the flat screen. I looked at the stranger.
"It's okay Clare. Lets just get out of here. We are safe", she said as she tried to comfort me. I recognised the "blonde" hair and realised it was Annelia.
"Th-that was ma-my pp-plane!" I whisper shrieked and behaved like a patient suffering from hispanic attack.
"What!"she blurted out, a little too loud do that once again I became the focus of many people who were looking curiously behind their back. Annelia looked totally blank. I waited for her to say something else but once I realised it wasn't going to happen I continued to speak.
"Yeah. My seat number 13", I said softly, gaping at her pretty face. She raised an eyebrow. Or course she needed an explaination so I sighed and made my way to the many empty chairs which lay scattered here and there.
"Okay fine I'm explaining", I said once we settled down in our chairs and I told her everything. The human mind is so strange and complex. Just few minutes ago I was reluctant to share my predicament with my own mother and here I am sitting at the airport, pouring my heart out to a stranger who I met only few hours ago. Call it bipolar much!
All this while I noticed Annelia listened to each and every word of mine intently without losing any interest or eye contact. The whole time I could see the intense look in her eyes which we experience when we find something interesting. Did she really find my boring life so interesting? Finally she decided to speak.
"Your mother knows that you are still alive?" She asked and I didn't realise how stupid and childish I can be at times. Thinking of trying to be and act like an adult? Huh! Sarcastic much!

I swayed my head.
"No..", I said and jumped out of the chair. Oh my God! What was I even thinking? Of course I don't want them to freak out once they see the news!

I decided to call her immediately. Grabbing out my cellphone, I headed for the coffee shop. Unlike the rest of the airport which was filled with people's useless gossips, shouts, discussions there the atmosphere was sober and really helped me to overcome my nausea.

I was about to dial when I noticed there wasn't any network. Damn! Why is it that the phone always ditches us when we need it the most?
It was really urgent to call back my mom so I made a go inside the room which had 'EMERGENCY' written on it in big bold letters.
