Thebitch just sent me a text. She said that she had all the evidence she neededand had cracked the case. I don't know what she knows or how she could know it.Surely she got nothing from Lucy? What evidence could she have? To find outwhat she knows, I'll invite her to my favourite killing zone, the BrooklynBridge.

I thought to myself "This will be perfect, no tourists, light traffic and no pedestrians; just Ella and I

I thought to myself "This will be perfect, no tourists, light traffic and no pedestrians; just Ella and I. Thank you high crime rate.

I arrived 15 minutes early and waited in the cool of the night, in the shadows of the pillar. Soon after, I heard a Harley Davidson slowing to a stop, just near me. A twinge of regret entered my mind at the thought of a beautiful woman going to waste.

She approached, looking around nervously. I stepped from the shadows.

"Hello," I said, in a calm, collected voice.

She jumped slightly but there was no fear in her eyes.

"So you cracked the case? What do you need to see me about? Why don't you just file your report?"

"Would you prefer to surrender or, as I would prefer, go down the hard way?"

Her face was dark and her eyes were steely. I realised she was not here to chat. I pulled my hand from behind me, gun at the ready. I aimed it between her eyes and motioned for her to move into the shadows.

"I think you know enough, I just want to know how you know."

She smirked.

"I've got you on CCTV and Zach will never take the fall on his own."

I let out a sigh and my shoulders dropped. I knew it was over. She obviously had enough on me; the evidence was not here since she hadn't pulled her gun. I lowered my firearm but kept it trained on her.

"Last year, I was struggling financially. I was in debt and I couldn't pay my rent so when a few guys came up to me and made me an offer I would have been stupid to refuse. So, I took it. Soon I was distributing drugs around the city and the cash started rolling in. Life was getting better but the bastards started squeezing me. They wanted more; they didn't care about me or if I got caught, I was just their pawn. I could roll over or I could take over. I chose the latter. With my special contacts, the business began to grow at a rapid rate. Life was on the up and up. Then came James. He managed to link the deaths of the previous officers to the case but he was way off the mark about who was controlling the organization. I didn't take any real pleasure in torturing him although, I must say, I did enjoy depositing his body parts in the historic buildings of Manhattan. I didn't leave any parts at the library but there was a woman who had been following me. She couldn't have given you any information, not the way I left her."

"That's where you're wrong. She wasn't there to tell me the information," spat Ella, "she left a file for me to collect. We would never have got a conviction from that information but it did lead me to the Cathedral and the Waldorf Astoria."

"Well, it looks like you've won." I said calmly.

Andwithout any hesitation, I put the gun inside my mouth and pulled the trigger.

The End
