I wake up the next day and stretch my arms and legs out. Jason isn't here. Where is he? Surely he couldn't have left the house; he doesn't know his way around London. I get out of bed and peak around every door to see if he was there. Nothing. I run downstairs and I'm comforted by the sound of Jason's voice. He's singing and it's beautiful. I walk up behind him and stretch my arms around him.
"Morning beautiful." He says turning around and giving me a big hug.
"Angelina is on her way around with a van to put the boxes in." He continued.
"Uh hu, what smells so good?" I ask.
"That would be pancakes, do you think Angelina will want some?" He says, his voice is soft.
"I expect she will love some." I then let go and make my way over to the sofa and turn the TV on.Knock knock
Angelina walks in with two men; both holding boxes.
"Where should we put them?" One of the men ask.
"Over by the TV." Angelina replies with the husky voice I have missed.
I run up to her and give her a hug. She smells nice.
"Are you all packed?" she asks and then goes and sit on the sofa."Not really." I honestly reply.
"We are flying your stuff back tomorrow. What have you been doing this whole time?" She sounds very concerned. I try to speak but then I remember about how I had a mini break down last night about my mother. I can't bare to tell her. I look over at Jason hoping that he can help me out. Of course he sees and walks over to me and holds my hand tight.
"Sophie had a few tears last night but she's okay now." He pauses before changing the subject. "We managed to pack most of her thing though. Mainly old pictures and clothing." Angelina sighs in relief. Then she gets up and starts to look around the house.
"This house reminds me of my home I lived in when I was young. So many memories." I can see her smile a little bit. "I understand how you feel Soph. I went through the same with my mother. It gets better I promise."
----------------------------------------------
A few hours later and we have packed everything. As the two men load the last boxes into the van it is time to say goodbye to the house that has been my home for the past 15 years. I go up stairs for the last time and open my bedroom door. My bed so neatly made with white bedding; it's so bare. I can remember having all of my posters on the walls and my drawings spread out across the dressing table. Now it's time for a new era; a new life. A life I never seen coming; Angelina, jason and saying goodbye to my mother at such a young age. As I close the front door for one last time I shed a tear. Angelina notices and wraps he arm around me.
"It will be okay." She says and then she kisses me on the head.
On the way back to the hotel Angelina gets a call from the hospital. She is told to bring me there as quick as she can. I'm really worried about my mum.
When we get there I run to her room, she is awake and slightly sat up. A small smile appears on her face when she sees me. I can't bring myself to smile back. I worried about her so much.
"Sophie! Come here honey." She says and reaches her arm out to me. I walk over and hold her hand.
"Soph," She says I nod to let her know I'm listening. "I don't know how much time I have left so I want to tell you this,"
"No! Don't say that, mum." My voice is broken, and tears start to form in my eyes.
"Soph! Let me speak!" I nod in response. "Don't be mad at Angelina when I'm gone. After all she is a brilliant mother with her other kids. Make sure your grades stay up, don't let this ruin your future. And finally." She holds out a package wrapped in a beautiful blue and white paper with a little ribbon around it. "Take this. When you're sad open it and I will be with you. You're never alone." She loses her breath on the last word. Her eyes start to close gently and the beeping sound gets slower and slower.
"Mum! No! Stay! Please!" I shout my eyes streaming with tears. I go to shake her in the hope that it will wake her up but Angelina holds me back cooing me as she does.
"I love you baby." She says finally before the beeping stops all together.
"No!" I shout. Then my legs go weak and I fall to the floor.
"Shh." Angelina coos. "It will be okay." She whispers. All Jason can do is stay with me. I feel like I have lost all the strength I had gained over these past few days. Why did this happen to me? Why did she have to go?
