Unexpected (Angelina Jolie)

Chapter 22. Liam

His mouth turns upwards into a small smile. My heart is racing and my palms go clammy as nervous take over.

Why do I always bump into people? I remember this same situation with Angelina almost a year ago now; in London at the ice skating rink; the pain in my hands, the embarrassment that took over my body. I remember it all.

"Don't worry about it." That accent... It's Australian. He glances over my shoulder towards my siblings that are starting to make their way over to me. "Looks like you have your hands full."

"Oh yeah, these are my younger siblings. Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne and Knox."

"I have a few hours free; mind if I join in the games? I haven't had a chill out day in forever."

His voice! I can't get over it. So deep yet so soft. The way he interacts with the kids.

I get out Pax's football and we play a small match. My team contains of Zahara and Pax. His team is made of Vivienne, Knox and Shiloh.

After playing football for two hours we all gather our things and head back to the house; it is only now that I realise I don't know his name and he doesn't know mine.

"My name is Sophie by the way."

"Sophie? Cute name. Mine is Liam." My heart flutters when I hear him say 'Cute name.'

No Sophie. Jason! Think of Jason.

And that is what I do. My hand clasps onto the necklace he gave me for Christmas and all the memories come floating back making a small smile appear on my face.

"What you smiling about?" He asks.

"Oh; just memories." Is all I can say. Why didn't I tell him about Jason? The words just can't leave my mouth.

"Well Soph, this is where I will leave you. I hope we meet again." We are both stood outside the beautiful Cambodian house me and my family are staying in.

"I hope so too, goodbye Liam." And I shut the door. I need to take my mind off of him. I reach for my phone to text Jason.

I don't expect he will reply for a few hours after all there is a huge time difference.

"Sophie!?!"

It's Angelina!

I run over to her and tell her everything about the amazing day at the beach. She didn't think I could handle all the kids and I almost couldn't but I did and they had a great time from what I hear at dinner.

"We won the football game mom!" Zahara declares.

"I helped!" Says Pax.

"Well that sounds wonderful!" Angelina replies, she looks over at me giving me a thankful smile.

Angelina and Maddox go on to tell us about their day. Maddox learned how to use a filming camera and they met the cast for the first time. We are all so proud of Maddox and what he is achieving considering he is only 14 years old. Then there is me who is almost 16 and has achieved nothing. Angelina promised me she will start up a project for me like what she has done for Maddox, Pax and Zahara.

"Tomorrow make sure you are ready to go out for lunch. We are meeting up with the people who are helping produce the series." Angelina says.

"Who is going?" I ask.

"Just me, you and Maddox." She replies.
