The tiny company comprised of Fili, Kili and I broke through the woods on the outskirts of the Shire. The calming sight of rolling hills, round doors, and flower gardens unfurled before me. Slowly we made our way up the pathway into the heart of the village. The path runs past every door and now the issue became finding the correct door."Did Gandalf happen to mention which hobbit hole was the correct one?" I question. Fili simply shrugged while Kili spoke up.
"He only said that we would know the door when we saw it." I groan and turn back around. Are wizards ever straightforward? We marched past one hole after another. I swear these infernal holes all look the same! We were approaching the top of the final hill when I noticed the last house. It had a wooden gate out front, and cobblestone steps leading to the door. I ran ahead to get a better look. The door was a dark green color and looked as if it had been freshly painted. Which is why I found it odd that there was a glowing blue elvish mark on the door. Since Hobbits are known for staying as far from adventures as possible, I figured that this was the correct house. I smirked as I leaned away from the gate towards the road.
"Oh boys!" I sung. " I found our Hobbit hole." I turned back to face the house as I heard Fili and Kili run up behind me. I smile as I unlatch the gate. We walked up the steps and I knocked on the door. The Hobbit that opened the door was about as tall as me, with curly brown hair and rather large feet as I suppose all hobbits do. Kili and Fili sprang up next to me and promptly introduced themselves, then proceeded to make an absolute mess of the hobbit's entryway. I roll my eyes as I step in behind them and drag them back by their hoods.
"You will take your things and put them away neatly. Then go and join the rest".
Both brothers rolled their eyes, but did as I said. The hobbit looked extremely relieved, he obviously had no experience with dwarves.
"Thank you miss. If you don't mind me asking, what's your name??"
I gave him a small smile"All in due time Master Hobbit. If you don't mind me saying, you don't seem the type to associate with dwarves. What possessed you to join our quest?"
"Quest, what quest? Gandalf didn't mention a quest of any sort."
Oh Gandalf, why am I not surprised.
