Author's Note
Just a little side note, this is the revised version so the comments may throw you off a little bit. There may be some comments that say things that would leave you confused as it has no connection to the revised chapters. So don't dwell on that too much.
Read and Enjoy.
**Reece stared at me, his eyes void of any emotion, which meant that he had no idea who I was nor that we went to the same high school. Not that it surprised me; after all, I wasn't in his social circle and I wasn't throwing myself at him or begging for his attention on a daily. I was, however, now in a situation where I could judge him properly for his outer appearance and must I say the rumours and the quick glances I gave did him no justice. "Oh, Lisa." I'm assuming Reece's mother started. Causing him and I to break our unofficial stare down. "She's so beautiful."
She assessed me from head to toe, her eyes meeting mine once again to give me a welcoming smile.
"Paige, this is Nicole and Maxwell Collins and their son Reece." My father introduced.
As I assessed the Collins family, it became quite obvious that Reece's features weren't just a blessing but a beautiful concoction of his mother and father.
Nicole Collins had honey blonde hair that was currently styled in a low twisted bun. It was simple yet sophisticated. Her dark green eyes complimented her midnight blue dress, which stopped just above her knees and was finished off with open-toed black heels with ankle straps.
Maxwell Collins had black hair, gray eyes and a strong jawline. All of which were passed down to his son. It was clear that he was no longer a young stud, but his features clearly showed that he had girls by the flock in his days heck he probably still had them even now. Donned in a black suit with a white inside collared shirt he exuded the money he owned.
"Reece!" Mrs.Collins whispered aggressively, gaining his attention. "You've been on nothing but that blasted phone since we've been here. Now put that thing away before I do it for you." With a sigh, he placed his phone in the pocket of his black slacks, not bothering to take his hand out of it and finally began taking in his surroundings. In the process of doing so his eyes met mine, making me immediately look away. I didn't even realize I was staring for so long; I didn't even know I was staring period. He probably thinks I'm some obsessed weirdo now.
As if nothing just happened, she turned to me once again, a dazzling smile that enhanced her gorgeous features now directed towards me. "Excuse my son for his poor behaviour and social skills. I blame that side of him on his father." She said, throwing a glare over her shoulder at her husband who was currently too deep in a conversation with my parents to see it. Patting my shoulder as a sign of consolation for breathing the same air as her son, she then makes her way over to her husband, sizzling up to his side and almost immediately his arm is wrapped around her waist pulling her closer. It was a subtle move but it made a powerful statement.
"Let's move this to the dining area, shall we?" my father suggested and just like that, all the adults left leaving Reece and I behind.
It was silent for a few seconds before I decided to break it. As the host, it was only right that I showed an ounce of hospitality. Stretching out my hand, I began my introduction.
"Hi, I'm Paige Evans," I started. "You may not know me but –"
"I know who you are," he said, cutting me off. Surprising me with his statement and his voice that was a deep baritone and raspy, making him sound older than he really was. No doubt the girls at school would swoon even more if they knew not only how he looked but how he sounded as well, on second thought they probably knew already.
