If I Stay

Nevermind Then

We were about ready to leave, when Colten got a text message. He looked up at me and didn't look too happy. 

"I got to go. Some other time we will have to do this." he said and I nodded my head. 

He walked out of the house and I kept looking at the door. Nate came walking in and looked at me. "Are you okay?" he asked me and I looked at him. 

"Well Brad and I are not on good terms and now I have a feeling that Colten and I are not going to be either. I give up anymore." I said as I walked up to my room. I sat down on my bed after I closed my door and I just sat there not saying a word. My phone went off and when I went to look at it, I noticed that it was Colten.

Colten: Hey, um sorry to say this but forget the whole prom thing, I can't go with you.

I threw my phone across the room and Sammy came running in. "Is everything okay? What happened?" He asked and I looked at him. 

"Everything is fine. I just threw my phone in frustration." I said to him and he looked at me before going to grab my phone for me and then walking over to the bed and sat down beside me. 

"Why did you throw it in the first place?" He asked as I grabbed my phone. I handed him my phone and he read what Colten texted me. 

"Wow. What is going on with all of your guy friends? Can I tell you something?" He asked me and I nodded my head. 

"Look at all of the stuff you got. He didn't get you all of it. Oh and I am kinda glad that you aren't going with him now." He said and he walked out. I was puzzled. What did he mean that he was glad that I am not going with Colten anymore? I looked at all of the stuff that was on my bed. The little stuffed animals was both from the Jacks, the food was from Sammy and Gilinsky, Nate got me the balloons, and the big huge teddy bear was from Sammy. I smiled knowing that Sammy got it for me. I looked it more and noticed a note tied to it. I grabbed it and looked at it.

I will be by your side through it all no matter how far away I am.

My brother came walking in and smiled. "We are going to get something to eat. You wanna come with us?" He asked me and I nodded my head getting off of my bed. 

"I'm driving my own car though. I need to charge my phone." I said and he nodded his head. We walked downstairs and I grabbed my keys off of the kitchen counter. I walked out of the door and someone came and took my keys from me. 

"I will drive." Sammy said and I smiled. 

"Okay but I get the aux cord." I said and he looked at me. 

"Then I get the phone charger." He said and I chuckled. 

"There are two chargers." I said to him and he kinda just looked at me. We got into my car and he started it up. We had to wait until Nate backed out and then we would be okay.

I looked over at Sammy once he started driving and he looked at me. "Why do you keep staring at me?" He asked. 

"No reason. Thanks for the teddy bear." I told him and he began to smile bigger than he was before. 

"No problem. I'd do anything for a friend." He said and for some reason when he said that, my stomach dropped and I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach. It turned very silent after that. I turned my music up a little more and played Cake by the Ocean by DNCE and I looked out the window.

 "Look I'm sorry for the way I said that." He said and I looked at him. 

"Oh yeah um it's okay. Why are you saying that for?" I asked him and he kept looking at me and then back at the road. He did that a couple of times before he spoke.
