Ch.18: My Brother, My Enemy

RJ's POV:

It's been about two months since I kissed Zoe. Yes, we are dating, sort of. It's a secret, well, Ellie knows but that's about it. We decided it would be best to keep it to ourselves until we thought Charlie was ready to hear that his little sister was dating his best friend.

"RJ, come on, stop daydreaming time for practice." Charlie says shutting his locker next to me.

"Yep, i'll be there in a minute I have to grab something." He nods and heads for the locker room.

"Maybe longer than a minute" Zoe says coming out from behind the row of lockers.

"And what exactly would be keeping me Ms. Jackson." I say wrapping my arms around her waist.

"Me." She says smiling and leaning in, I meet her in the middle with a kiss.

We kissed for awhile when I yell disturbed us.

"Zoe come on we have cheer practice!" Ellie yelled from down the hall.

"I have to go" She sighed leaning her forehead against my chest.

"So do I." I smiled at her pouting face.

"I better get to practice but I will see you before the Homecoming game tomorrow. Can you wear my jersey?" I say kissing her quickly.

"Yes, I told Charlie and he didn't ask probably because he thought that you were the only guy  I knew but still." She said laughing.

"Okay I will see you tonight when I drop it off." I say walking towards the looking rooms.

"It's about time." Hunter says as I enter the locker room.

"Sorry, I left something in another classroom." I say changing into my gear.

"Uh huh, sure." Hunter says smirking and running out to the field, I follow shortly after.

Once we got on the field Charlie called me over.

"Glad you could make it." He said laughing.

"Whatever alright let's go." I say as we start warm up drills. Charlie and I start by passing.

I hear a laugh and turn to see Zoe and the other girls laughing. She caught my gaze and smiled shyly at me. I smiled back only to get hit in the stomach with a football.

"RJ, focus, stop checking out the cheerleaders." Charlie says.

"Sorry."

"I didn't know you had a thing for one of them." He says.

"Ya"

"Who?" He asks.

"Uhhhhh that brunette."

"Hey, RJ what are you doing here?" Charlie asks letting me inside his house.

"I forgot to give Zoe my jersey for Homecoming tomorrow." I say.

(Let me explain, all of the cheerleaders where a football players jersey during the pep rally and opening for Homecoming. The opening includes a school parade and a preformance from the dance and cheer team.)

"Oh okay, go ahead and take it up she's in her room." He says.

"Okay." I say heading up the stairs. I knock on her door.

"Come in." A voice answers. I enter an close the door behind me. Zoe was sitting on her bed surrounded by books typing away on her computer. She was wearing a pair of flannel pj shorts and a tank top. I jumped on the bed next to her.
