Ginny's POV:
Why did Harry have to act so barking mad?! Honestly, and the boys said we were confusing!
Oh Ginny, go easy on him. With Voldemort back, it's probably worse than ever for him.
"Ginny! Get your things! We're leaving for Diagon Alley! Then we'll go straight to the Hogwarts Express!" Mum exclaimed. She failed to sound excited. I rolled my eyes for a brief second before running into the chaotic family room and collapsing on the couch.
"Ginny!" Mum groaned and waved her wand, causing multiple items lying around the house to fall into place. "We're leaving now!" Normally it didn't matter to me, but today I knew she wasn't joking. Everyone was lined up by the fireplace with floo powder, ready to go. I reluctantly got up, and stomped over to everyone else. I began to inch towards Hermione.
"Hermione!" I whispered.
"What?!" Hermione retorted. "If it's about you and Harry's fight, then he already told me." I sighed and whipped around to see Harry watching the pair of us.
"But can't you talk to him 'Mione? Please? He's not really in his right mind, and he doesn't listen to me...almost no one listens to me." I pleaded and stared into Hermione's brown eyes. She sighed and tilted her head.
"Oh, alright. I'll talk to him...it's about your mum isn't it?" She consented.
"Harry says that mum doesn't want him to come round anymore." I tried to explain.
"Rubbish!" she agreed furiously. We nodded in harmony, and stopped talking to listen to Dad's instructions.
"You all know the rules!" Dad boomed. Everyone nodded. "Just shout Diagon Alley!"
"Diagon Alley!" We all cheered, and one by one we went up the fireplace.
Diagon Alley was a beautiful sight. The shop lined streets comforted me, and Harry and I would often stopped to look in the windows of the Quidditch shops. I ignored it when he stared at me, and instead decided to talk to Hermione while we walked.
She mostly talked about the excitement of new books and classes, but she also dabbled a bit in Quidditch talk, causing me to stay partially sane.
Go talk to Harry!
No!
YES!
NO!I smiled a little at the fight going on in my head.
Hermione and I ran our fingers across the rows of Love Potions.
"They really do work!" The twins chirped in harmony.
"Ready to go?" Ron asked. We nodded and trailed out of the store.
Should I talk to Harry?
No! Hermione will!I remembered this fact as we strolled into Flourish & Blotts.
"Now 'Mione! Please go talk to him!" I begged. Hermione smiled at me and walked over to him.
I grabbed out an Extendable Ear and went a little farther away from them and behind a bookcase. I listened in.
"Umm...Harry...can I talk to you...about...Ginny?" Hermione stammered.
"It's not her fault, but she should come and talk to me, not you." Harry demanded loudly, earning him a few cruel looks from people browsing my
aisle."Well, too bad." Hermione snapped back. "You know it's not her fault. It's just that her mum is scared for them, all of them, including you. Please, just forgive her, and say you're sorry. It's pretty obvious that she's upset, and you are too. Please."
"Fine," Harry replied. I heard his footsteps and quickly retrieved the Extendable Ear.
"Harry!" I exclaimed, failing to sound nonchalant. He smiled when he saw me.
"Don't scare me, Ginny. Look, I'm sorry...I'm a bloody fool..." he admitted.
I giggled and snorted, "The Boy Who Lived, apologizing? Oh, my, where do I begin?"
Harry laughed hysterically. "Yeah, I suppose so. I'll take that as your 'apology accepted' then, Weasley."
I raised my eyebrows. "Alright then, Harry Potter. Come on, let's go back to the others."
He murmured in agreement.
We walked back and joined them, and Hermione smiled brightly at me when she saw us.
"Children!!" Mrs. Weasley yelled. "We have everything! Now hurry up, let's go or you'll be late for the train!!"
Ron grunted and Harry ran to catch up with him.
"Coming, Ginny?" Hermione asked.
"Yeah," I responded. "And thanks, by the way."
"You're welcome." she whispered.
Minutes later we were nearly boarding the train.
"Goodbye mum!" I heard all the Weasleys chorus. I simply muttered it.
And with that, everyone boarded the train.
I was standing outside the compartments, waiting for some of the crowds of people to clear out.
"He's lovely." Luna gushed when she saw my Pygmy Puff. "They've been known to sing on Boxing Day, you know."
"Quibbler?!" Luna called.
"Oh, please..." I enthused. Luna then handed me the latest issue of the eccentric magazine.
"What's a wrackspurt?" I asked curiously.
Luna replied, "They're invisible creatures. They float in your ears and make your brain go fuzzy." I resisted the urge to laugh.
"Quibbler?!" she continued to shout.
I sat in the nearest compartment, completely oblivious to the world around me.
