"Dangerous Liasions - Part 2"As the night went on, boredom surfaced through me. This ball had gotten incredibly boring and I didn't have Kol around to entertain me like he always did whenever we assisted to a party
I walked closer to the refreshment table, pouring myself a drink when I sensed someone approaching
"Little Gilbert" I greeted without looking up.
"Klarysse" Jeremy crossed his arms standing next to me, "What's Esther up to?"
"I'm surprised Elena even let you step closer to this ball" I said amused, turning to face him. "Congratulations for walking past her security"
"She doesn't dictate my life" Jeremy narrowed his eyes
"Oh, rebellious" I smirked "I like it"
Jeremy sighed in frustration, "Whatever. So, what's the deal with your aunt sending an specific invitation to Elena to meet her?"
I paused my movements, eyebrow furrowing in confusion. "Must be her blood" I replied after a moment, offering him a drink. Jeremy eyed it cautiously "I heard it's appealing to both witches and vampires. Stefan and Damon can confirm you that. Or, I could" I smirked at him tauntingly
Jeremy didn't bite into my provoking, taking a deep breath, "You didn't know, did you?" He realized, my smirk slowly fading. "Whatever Esther is planning you have no clue about it"
"Like I said, it's her doppelganger blood. Always useful for little spells" I insisted, as well with the drink, "Come on, it's not poisoned. It isn't my style"
Jeremy slowly grabbed the drink but as well my wrist. I eyed his hand annoyed, lowering my own drink to the table "Why would your aunt need my sister's blood?"
"Take your hand off me if you don't want a broken bone" I threatened through gritted teeth, grabbing his hand with my free hand and putting pressure on it, practically hearing something crack
Jeremy groaned in pain, hissing out "You don't want to cause a scene in front of oblivious humans, do you?"
I looked around, seeing none of the guests were paying attention to us, except for one person who kept flickering her eyes toward us
Aunt Esther
I pursed my lips in a thin line, dropping Jeremy's hand harshly.
Jeremy cradled his hand to his chest following my gaze, "You're afraid of her" he realized
I looked back at him coldly, "If I were you, I'd stay as far away from her. Take your sister and leave" I started walking past him
"Bonnie was right. You are the most human out of them" Jeremy told me. I stopped, looking over my shoulder, "It's why you are warning me. Because you care"
"Pesky little feelings, don't you think?" I said amused, "Maybe it's because you impressed me. Not everyone have the courage to confront an original without fearing their life" I told him honestly. "Which is why I'm warning you to stay away from my aunt. Trusting her could mean your doom. That's what happened to my closest friend"
I didn't wait for Jeremy to say anything else before walking away, knowing I had already said too much.
This conversation made me remember Tatia. She had been the one besides Malika to be a true friend, even if she fancied Elijah and flirted with Niklaus, (or the other way around, I never knew exactly) coming in between them, I still liked her. She was strong and always managing to ignore the judgement for having a child out of wedlock. I never cared. She was my friend and when I heard of her death I was devastated. I lost my two best friends in less than 24 hours.
