Mystic "Not so changed" FallsI whirled a strand of red hair on my finger as I waited slightly impatiently for the tank of my red car to be filled with gas. The ding snapped me out of my thoughts. It had been a while now since I thought about the night I was turne and it annoyed me whenever I had those thoughts because that's when everything changed for me. Since that night, I stopped being the innocent little girl I used to be, even if I still look like that girl but mentally, things changed.
I straightened up, sighing heavily still asking myself why I continued returning back that place every few years. It was a town that held bad memories for me. I knew it was a waste of my time which I could be using for other things but yet, I was still here returning back to my birth town to remember myself I still am a human. Or try to convince myself I still have human feelings and shouldn't give them up.
I shook my head, breathing a light sigh pulling out my phone and ignoring the obnoxious texts from Annika. This was her idea. I should have visited later but she insisted. She took the fun out of everything I did. I should have been in Chicago right now doing my duties to keep everything in check with the newbies and the not so newbies but liked to get in trouble. Those were my favorites. They were the ones who knew about me and my reputation. They knew that when they were on my radar, it was hard to leave it until they were taken down. It was a trait me and all my family had. We were ruthless and stubborn. Everyone had to be careful while dealing with us.
I chuckled, shoving my phone to my pocket and getting inside my car starting to drive, not really excited by my little visit.
"Mystic Falls here I come" I murmured under my breath, feigning excitement.
The song blaring on my car was from a singer named Kelly Clarkson. That song had been one of the few of this decade to get me to really like it. Since You Been Gone had a bittersweet taste on my mouth every time I heard it but I couldn't help myself.
My eyes settled straightforward, suddenly feeling anxious about entering the town I was born at. It was like this every time I visited. I never knew why. It's not like I had died in here.. Wait. I did.
I shook my thoughts away with a bitter chuckle as I passed the town sign welcoming every tourist or returnee in my case to the small town.
Driving around the streets I realized it hadn't changed a lot since the last time I was here, fifteen years ago. An amused quirk of my lips as I thought about that moment. Fortunately for me, this time I wasn't only here by sightseeing. I was here on a mission and had to make sure those rumors were truth before he came here for nothing.
My first step was the little house town I owned. Yes, I did own a house even when I only visited every fifteen or twenty years. It was to not attract the attention to myself like I know my cousins would. They loved the attention. Me, not so much.
I parked just outside breathing in and out, wondering if this was just a good idea or if I could go to the Salvatore Boarding House. But that also meant signaling I was here. Besides that I knew the current owner, Zach (That if he's still alive, knowing all of the Salvatore's fates) was really suspicious. The last time I was here I tried to be neighborly but I never got him to trust me. It was frustrating but at the same time very smart from him. I admired him. That's why I decided to spare his life. He never knew his cautiousness against my kind was the thing that saved him from me. I hope he's still alive.
