Rosalie
It was the next day, when I woke up. I got dressed, walking down the stairs. No one was awake, big surprise, so I walked outside. It was light, but still was in aftermath due to the amount of rain. Jon wasn't outside this time, so I started walking. I didn't know where, but my mind directed me.I ended up in this forest, which led to a park. A lonely park, at that. It took a while for me to recollect where I was. The park seemed abandoned and alone. The swings were now covered in rust, due to the air and constant rain in Iowa. But the weirdest thing was, that was the only thing there, surrounded by mountains of trees. I was in Clear Lake, later acknowledged as Deadman's Park.
Apparently, many myths and legends reported that this was the park where wolfs reunited, beasts fought, and vampires fed. Honestly, I wasn't phased by the legends told about this mysterious place. After all, I am (technically) a grown woman, and I know real from fake. Plus, I do have proof behind my opinion about supernatural beings. They just stated that for a quick shock, and that was that.
I began walking back, only to find out that I didn't know the way back. I didn't even know how I randomly found this place. But I did. And now, I needed to use that same thinking for walking back. Or, do you? You randomly found your way here, so how the hell would you get back?
Okay, Rosalie. Think!
I was walking straight before. So, that must mean, if I go straight, maybe turn a few times, I'll make it home. I started walking, glancing every once in awhile. It was only then when I saw something at my far right.
It was like a figure rushed across. The tree ruffled above me, signaling that someone could've climbed up. In hind sight, the person was running pretty fast. Blood was trickling at their feet, leaving a trail. I could only catch an olive jacket the person was wearing. Unless...
No, Rosalie! Focus.
And so I did. I continued walking, hearing quiet talking a few times. I froze, thinking about those voices. Probably just my mind playing tricks on me. Thunder crackled behind me, knocking me out of my thought process completely. I needed to find a way home, and quick.
I started running, as the rain poured. Splashing was all I could hear, besides my beating heartbeat growing bigger. It wasn't a serial killer, I reminded myself. It wasn't a serial killer.
I felt quite venerable, just practically sprinting in circles and drawing attention to myself. But, I continued running, anyway, knowing that it would be better to die trying. Unfortunately, the rain made it impossible to see, so dying would've been quite my future at that point. I tried wiping my eyes, only for more water to spill into my eyes, leaving cringing stings to annoy me. My eyes never felt as irritated as then. The water seemed to seep through my eyelids, easily each time.
"Is someone here?!," I shouted out, or at least I thought I did.
I heard nothing. The rain and thunder prevented my hearing. I tried walking, only to then trip on a soggy log. Atleast it seemed so, anyway. You've got to be kidding me!
I lifted up, trying to make out what I tripped over. It was long, and cold. Then again, it was raining pretty hard. I tried to lean in closer, observing what possibly I tripped over with the remainder of sight I had. My breath cut short, leaving my sight in horror. I tripped over a dead woman.
"ROSE?! ROSALIE!"
"OVER HERE!", I yelled back. I started running, only to almost fall again. It was Colby, also drenched. "Come on", he said, grabbing my arm. I couldn't believe it. The whole time, I was in the woods with a murderer, or something, and my fate was only saved by Colby. Must be a tracking device, my mind grimaced, as if it wanted me to die. Barbara was the only thing to remind me of what I could've been, what I should've been.
If this is a dream, I thought. I want to get out.
