Water dripped silently from the top of the cold dark cave. Crystal's hung from the roof, sparkling like the stars in the night sky. Two giant rocks covered the mouth of the cave, making the air stiff with dust.
The only sound was the constant rocking of the three eggs in the center of the cave, each of them separated by neatly placed stacks of smooth rock.
On each of the nests was a soft plaque etched with scratchy letters. On the first nest the plaque was black, it looked like it had been part of something else that had no more use. Written on the tablet was the word 'Shatten' witch in the ancient language of the Dragons meant 'Shadow'.
On the nest next to shadow was another plaque. It looked as if it were on fire different shades of red swirled within the stone tablet. On the plaque in scratchy writting was written 'Da ist ein' beautifully translated as Theresa.
The very last nest next to Theresa was another plaque. The tablet looked as if it were going to pounce at any moment. It had perfectly alined strips all across the surface of the tablet. Written in chicken scratch was the name 'Drachen' which roughly translated to Tora.
Suddenly a new sound entered the cave, a loud cracking like someone stepping on a worn down piece of glass, shattering into thousands of shards. The eggs where hatching. Shadow hatched first, climbing out of her egg like the sun rising for a new day. She had big black ripped wigs that grew all the way to the tip of her tail. Long dark claws attached to her stubby new fingers. Strong white fangs stretched from her wide mouth, glissining with sheets of dark purple liquid. The beautifully horrific beast had broad shoulders and a strong body, designed for power. Her tail was long and slender with sharp black spikes running all the way down her back to the tip of her tail.
The second to hatch was Theresa, coming out of her egg covers in layers of warm steam. Long hot wings unfolding slowly off her sticky back, sharp tallons forming at the tips. Her red and orange scales glowed as she stretched her broad body. Stubby horns grew out of her head, only being a newborn. Her tail and back prickled with white thorney spikes, her fangs equally as sharp as she yawned reveiling glowing red hot flames shooting out of her mouth.
Lastly was Tora, her head peeking threw a little hole when she emerged. She had a slender head showered with jet black stripes. Two white stubby horns dusted with a light orange lay atop her head. Her orange body speckled with white dots making it seem as if she was glowing. Her furry mane faded from a deep orange into a pure white. Her wings grew out of her slender back, larger then average. They had three long talons, thin orange scaley skin growing in between them. Its long tail had a tuft of white fur on the tip, and her fangs were pointy and sharp.
These where the dragons who will either save the world from the darkness, or plunge it deeper into the putrid evil.
These three brave dragons would soon become the only ones to destroy the darkness that was in the land to make peace.
