chapter 1 the girl

The sun was high in the sky. The heat of the day was hitting it climax. I was moving through tall bladegrass of the valley. Aaaaa! A blood curdling scream rang out.

Where are you?can you hear me?

After a few moments pass I chopped it up to the wind playing trick on my ears. It is a pretty windy day after all. Then there was another scream. This time I was able to pinpoint its location. I draw near to the location from which the scream came from.When i arrived i couldn't believe my eyes. There stood a giant bear a dire bear to be precise. It is odd because a dire bear shouldn't be in the valley. I don't have time to worry about that right now. The bear has a girl in it snout. With out any hesitation I rush in to confront the bear. My palms ignited in flames. Sending the flame to give the bear a kiss he soon wont forget. I bathed the bears face in flames causing the bear to relinquish it hold on the girl. With that I snatch the girl up into my arms. Not knowing if she was dead of alive I didn't care at the time. I just had to get her out of that situation. After run for what felt like hours I felt comfortable with the distance I have put between me and that now half burnt bear. I lad the girl down on the grass. I don't recognize her from the village. She is very beautiful with short cut auburn hair. She had to be about the same high as me 5"8. She appears to be slim but with her close mostly torn to shreds I can see she is well tone and fit. she had to around her 20's. Around a hour after I set her down miss sleeping beauty wakes from her slumber.

Where am I? I'm not dead am I? Because you don't look like a angel to me. The mysterious girl asked rudely

No your not dead but your still hurt so take it easy. I said while trying to not show my frustration.

I'm fine thank you, And what are you supposed to be my knight in shining armor? Cause I don't need a knight to protect me.She said through clenched teeth.

It was obvious that she was in pain.

Nope I'm just some unlucky guy that manged to fight off a dire bear to rescue you. With not even a thank you for it. i said with a hint of irritation in my voice.

Sorry I don't mean to be rude. As you can tell i'm having a pretty rotten day. A week as a matter of fact.She said meekly still though clenched teeth.

It's alright here take this to cover you're self. I tossed her the coat I was wearing. i said with a softer tone.

She thanked me with a blushed face. After realizing the stat of the out fit and quickly cover her self with my coat.

so do you like around here? she asked with a curious look plastered on her face

Ya I do if you think your able to make short hike to my place. I can take care of your wounds and fine you something proper to wear. I said with a curious tone was well. Cause i don't know how shell react to my invitation.

Can I get a bath? Its been ages since my last one. She blurted out right after i extended my invitation to her.

Hahahah I think I can manage that. After a short walk we manage to make it to my small two room cottage.

Oh I for got to asked you your name mine telling me? She asked.

It Cryosin but just call me Cryo. I replied

Ok Cryo. Nice to meet you my name is Melanie Vonbrun Skyfur. She held out her arm that wasn't wounded.

It's been a year since me and Mel meet. I didn't think she was going to stay. At first i wanted to send her packin but in time i grew to enjoy her company. It probably helped that i am attracted to her. But i wouldn't tell her for she'll just hit me and laugh at me.

Hey you never told me why you live alone. Melanie asked

It cause i don't like to talk about it. i replied trying to get off of the topic.

Is it cause they died and you still miss them? she asked

No it because i was disowned and chased out of town by my own family happy now? I replied with a loud and threatening tone.

WHACK!! A fist came out of nowhere smashing in to my right cheek.

What the hell was that for? I screamed at Melanie while trying to nurse my right cheek.

Because you were being rude and yelling. she said through here anger.

Not wanting to get punched again. I just turned around and walked towards the door.

Were are you going? curiously asked.

Out hunting we're getting low on meat. Is that all right with yo? Or do you have more insensitive questions to asked? I asked over my shoulder. There was no reply. It was early in the morning the sun just peeking over the horizon. Leaving the small cottage well more like a shack. Trying to quietly tracking a deer through the dew cover underbrush. It wasn't long before i found what it was i was tracking. About thirty yards off to my right. There was a six point buck. It antlers wasn't trophy material but it was a pretty big. Meaning there's a lot of meat and i don't hunt for trophy's. Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves and to take aim. The scent of pine trees has always had a calming effect on me. My eyes began to glow blue and a icy wind swirl in my hand. Forming a small ice shard. I let the ice shard fly towards it intended target. SWOOSH! THUD! My shard of ice fond it mark. After some time i emerged from the forest.

Cryosin!! Cryosin! A boy around thirteen years of age was running towards me screaming.

What is it Billy? I asked confused.

It's Buford. and come quick. Melanie is going at it with Jameson. The boy cried out through deep breaths.

What! Why? never mine where are they at? i asked the boy

Last i saw there were outside of the tavern. The boy replied.

Thanks can you take this to my place and hang it up? asking for the boy to take my deer.

What? if the guards catch me with that ill get in trouble. The boy said while backing up from me.

Boy my house is just over there and there is no guards around just take the deer please. As i shoved the deer to the boy and ran off towards the tavern.
