Chapter 11 × Lair ×

Sonata's POV

I open my eyes and noticed an very unfamiliar ceiling.

I try to get up but my body still hurts like hell!

"Ugh..." I slowly get up a take a look at my surroundings.

"It looks like I'm in someone's room..." I said and walk outside.

I climb down the stairs and at the end it led me to a small lair.

I adventure around the small lair until it suddenly felt cold.

" Brrr! Why is this place so cold!" I complain as I place my arms around me.

Suddenly I felt a blanket draped over me.

Startled, I suddenly hit the person behind me.

"Woops." I said.

The guy lets out a chuckle and said.

"It's good to see that you haven't change."

"Well mysterious stranger can you tell me where I am and who you are?" I said.

"You seriously can't recognize me?" The mysterious figure said and walked out of the shadows revealing an older Robin!

"Robin?" I said and touched his face.

"Yeah it's me, but I haven't used that name in a while now." Robin said and placed his hand on top of mine.

"Then what's your name?" 

"It's Nightwing now, Robin was only the past." Robin or Nightwing said as he walked away from me and towards the computer.

"I heard that you needed help."

"Yeah,  but I guess it doesn't matter anymore..." I said and followed him but  stopped midway when I saw his old uniform inside a glass case.

Only to be preserve,

As a memory...

"What do you mean it doesn't matter anymore?"

"The past can't be fixed and the future can't be changed no matter how twisted it looks like..." I said closing my eyes and trying to stop myself from crying.

I hated crying it only showed me how weak I was...

And it showed me how vulnerable I was to anyone...

Suddenly a pair of arms wrap around me and held me in a tight hug.

"It's alright Sonata, just let it out..." Robin said and I couldn't help it, 

The tears then began streaming down my face as I held onto Robin.

"Sshh it's okay, Sonata you'll be fine..." Robin whispers while I was stuck in a sobbing session.

"Come on it's time for us to fix the past." Robin said pulling away and walked over to his computer.

Robin pressed a button and his old communicator popped out.

"I've held onto this, just in case." Robin said and activated his communicator and began sending out a distress call to the others.

"In the meantime I better get to the Metro Art Technologies." Robin said about to walk away.

"Why?"

"Because Warp's there and the only way to get you back and change our past is through that suit of his."

"Hold up I'm coming with you!" I said and began to follow him.

"No you can't your in no shape to fight." 

"WHAT!?" I scream and drop the blanket.

"I'm coming with you and that's final! There is no way In hell that I'm staying here! THAT YOU CAN COUNT ON!" I shout with a very visible tick mark on my head.

"Alright Alright calm down." Robin said.

"Geez you never change, your mouth and temper can sure become a weapon." Robin joked

But deep inside to me that wasn't because I'm a Siren and it's dangerous for my voice to control people without my control nor knowledge.

"Sonata?"

"Yeah?" I said jumping out of my thoughts.

"I'm sorry if I offended you or anything I didn't mean it." Robin apologized.

"Oh no! It's alright I wasn't offended or anything I was just thinking about somethings." I said laughing a fake laugh.

"Sonata I know you and  I can clearly tell if somethings wrong or not." 

" *sigh* Fine I was thinking about if the past could really be fixed or not." I lied.

And Robin seemed to buy it because he smiled and ruffled my hair.

"Stop worrying that pretty little head of yours, you might end up getting old." Robin said smirking.

I smiled at Robin and very thankful  for him to never push a topic that can clearly upset me.

"Well we better get moving or else we might miss him." Robin said and handed me my guitar.

"Thanks." I said taking my guitar and ran out of the lair with Robin.
